What Mr. Banned did, is doing and will continue to do is stir the crap to get one of these catfights going. You guys are fueling what he and all the other BS'ers on here do. Put the inflammatory comment out there to get a big bru ha ha going. Don't become part of Mr. Banned's games.

I'm sorry, that was not my intent. I don't care if people believe the way I do or not, just so long as they keep their own beliefs to themselves. Once they tell me that such and such is a sin, though, then they become fair game.

Let me see if I have this straight....

Clif insinuates that Ready, who has publically acknowledged on this board that she is a Christian, is going to Hell. I call him out on it and your responses are something like ...."Well, what about Ready talking about Obama's Christianity?" and "No one should question another's faith."

Well, if you really believe that NO ONE should question another's faith, then why am I the only one here to call Clif out on doing just that. Maybe it's because it would seem too much like you'd be agreeing with a , Oh My!....a conservative??

Where's your outrage at Clif questioning Ready? Huh? All you can do is drag Obama into it.

You make an excellent point! I just was in a sparring mood this morning:mrgreen:8)...that, and, I don't take lightly to folks telling other's they are going to hell.

Ken's expression attention ***** came to mind as I read your post

That still doesn't make it okay for you to insinuate Ready is going to Hell. No justifying that one. I hope you really are sorry! Perhaps Ready would like to know that too!

Trying again to see if there could be some other "intent" here than for you to imply Ready is going to Hell?

    .......
    ..........

    ..............

    NOPE! Can't find one still.

This is true. But, by the same token, R has no right to declare anyone "perverse" who doesn't fit with their narrow definition of right and wrong as they define it.

Maybe, once I calm down a bit.

I understand that you disagree with Ready on that subject, still she did not call you perverse but your insult was directed personally towards her.

    That's fair!

Please show me where I called anyone perverse, Clif...

I think Clif is a pretty good debater. I enjoy his arguments and they remind me of being in college in philosophy class. It is hard for Christians to argue effectively because everything they believe comes down to one problem as I see it: It can't be scientifically proven that God exists. At the same time, the Bible was written by men, in a different language, and therefore is subject to various interpretations by others. Blind faith is a scary concept to me, especially when it involves trying to follow an absolutely literal man-interpreted translation of the Bible, especially when it has been proven that certain passages/rules layed out in the Bible were not religiously motivated or set by "God" but placed in there for financial reasons (think fish), medical/health reasons (think pork), etc.

You're certainly not the only person who has reservations about how the Bible was interpreted etc. As well as the scientific aspects of their faith. As a matter of fact it came up recently in the Faith Formation class that I co-teach. I know others will try to clear up the interpretation thing and it's a complex idea so I'll not get into it here, but the fact that you are thinking about it and asking questions is normal and always a good thing!

That is sad (to me) that you feel this way about God not being scientifically proven and that things are in the Bible for Financial reasons.:confused:

If you want to get into Christian apologetics, here is a great place to start, and here is a nice little article from that website.
