No, if I get a tribute page it has to be for reasons other than my faith or religious beliefs because that wouldn't be right. So you'll have to come up with something else. I have plenty of other good qualities to pay tribute to :jester:

I didn't get "our way is better" from that at all. She just stated that she did not understand the need for it and even explained WHY she didn't understand that need.

This is for whoever asked about fish on Fridays...it is primarily a Catholic thing but I have actually known some other christian groups to follow the lead.

From one website: "It was more likely that political and economic reasons reinforced Friday as a day for eating fish. It would help the fishing industry at the time. Likewise, because fish was cheaper than meat so that poorer folk didnt feel different when purchasing fish at the market. Finally, by establishing competition between fishermen and meat growers, prices could be lowered all the way around."

From another book, "Taste: The Story of Britain Through Its Cooking" by Kate Colquohoun, copyright 2007.
    ISBN-10 1 -59691-410-6.

Interestingly, on page 96 this is the following:

". . .The Dissolution of the Monasteries changed at a stroke the way the countryside looked and the rules according to which people ate. The monks, their masses and their fish-ponds disappeared. Roman Catholicism became treasonable.
By the time the London guilds of salt fish-mongers and stockfish-mongers merged to form the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers, fish days had already begun to lose their force. In 1541 *Henry proclaimed that eggs, cheese, and milk could all now be included in fast-day diets; total Lenten abstinence was abandoned, and the number of holy days was reduced by three-quarters. Apart from the religiously tumultous handful of years under the hard-line Protestant King Edward VI and, later, his Catholic half-sister Mary, a middle ground was reached: fast days were maintained by law in order to protect the fishing industy, and most people ate fish on Fridays and Saturdays. . ."

As usual, there is some argument that eating fish on Fridays had nothing to do with financially helping fishmongers. You can decide for yourself as you research, as I have. It is just another point of view, but I think it is interesting. THis is really all I have time for as far as explaining, but I'm sure there's more out there if you're interested.
