Evidently people are paying it. I have only used those when I just didn't pay attention and let my tank get too low to go elsewhere.
I'm glad they were busted! I want to know how on earth are they going to reimburse people though?? Do they have allllllll the names and numbers of those that got gas there at the time? I just don't get it.:?
I read in one article that they are supposed to refund customers via their credit/debit & gas cards. Anyone who paid cash would be entitled to a refund also, they just have to prove their proof of purchase with a receipt.
national average is irrelevant as NC has some of the highest gas taxes in the southeast. gouging only occurs when there a shortage of supply or an unexpected surge in demand. otherwise, the free market will reign down on those that charge too much.
whatever. it's $2.87 on Capital and was at the beach. It's $2.69 in the Greensboro area. it should be mandated to some degree, taxes or not, within the State.
