Ya'll know anyone? It's a Panasonic and just quit working. Will not turn on. I've called a place in Raleigh, but $85? for a diagnostic fee is a little steep to me! TIA
Electronics today are made to be mostly disposable. Those bench fees are high enough and then you consider the parts for them... If you don't get a warranty at the time of purchase, its almost a guarantee that it'll just make more sense to buy something new. I'll bet many TV repair shops benefit from the high bench fee. A customer carries in the TV, decides the repair costs are too great and then just chooses not to pick it up. Then the shop can either strip it or sell it.
Yup. I love fixin stuff, but TV's are one of those things that usually arent worth messing with. I will open them up to see if there are any obvious fuses blown, popped capacitors, but thats about it.
When our Panasonic did that a year or so ago, we opted to buy a new one based on what we had paid for that one, how long it lasted and what the repair costs more than likely would have been. We ended up buying a nice LCD HD. Unless you are an electronics tech, as has been said, stuff now days is disposable. Craig
Actually there is an electronics parts house in downtown Raleigh. As soon as I remember the name I'll post it. Craig
WHOA! Be careful! Don't want to "advertise a business" here! Cleo might pull the broomstick from here rear and beat you with it.
Oh Dan shut up! :boxing: IF people ask for a *referral* it's fine. I just can't advertise MY business (unless I pay webbie for it) <wink wink> btw, I have a referral now, thank you! Thread done!
Hey mcquiver move on to something that is realistic, your trying to climb a tree that isn't there. But if you enjoy it so much keep climbing maybe one day you will realize your a little lost.
Why would I put my broomstick in my rear? I park it in the driveway with my other modes of transportation. Geesh!
Well, hg had her head on a stick yesterday...maybe he thought you kept your stick where the sun don't shine!?!
Television Repair... Call the TV Man Raymond Davis 839-1725 $155 sure as hell beats the new TV DH wanted! LOL Cleo, I'm borrowing your broomstick today. K?
Ours did the same. Turns out, ours was only locked in a child safety mode. Check your manual for the instructions on how to remove the lock. Try this first. If it fails, no harm done. Didn't cost a thing. It may work, though. Called the FPA Lock.
