    Christmas will be just for the kids this year.

    May not be able to spend anything this year. Don't know what we'll tell the kids, haven't figured it all out yet. They may be able to get one gift a piece at maybe $20 but that would be it. We have financially been hit hard w/ many unexpected expenses and medical bills. Been insane. Hoping things will cahnge but appears to be getting worse, not better w/ the price of food. I feel bad and have been looking for something I can do at home. We'll get there. My kids were all used to never getting anything from where they came from but I never thought they'd have to do it again. Tough times. I've been selling stuff here and there but really, we have nothing worth selling. Just happy we still have a job. I should NOT complain. So, any ideas on what to tell the kids, let me know. Especially, how to handle it when others start talking about what they get. I'll know in a week if my parents will be able to help us out. So, bottom line, spending WAY LESS this year. Good luck to everyone during this tough time. Also, suggestions, send them my way.

    Take care,

    Well.....Maybe you don't have to tell the kids anything. If you can give me the ages/Male or female and what they are into these days. I'd be gladly to contribute what I can. I don't want to hear any kids missing out on Christmas...its a special time of the year for these children...for everyone's children.

    And as for that other tread about believing in Santa poll thingy.....I feel that we are all santa in our hearts who give to others.

    Please pm the info when you have a chance.

    Me too Stef, I'm in! Maybe if someone could take each one of the kids and buy for just them, they could still have a good Christmas. That's what the holiday is all about, sharing. I would rather buy for someone I "sorta" know! PM me with some info about the youngest and we will go from there.

    Maybe a secret Santa amongst the kids where everybody makes their presents.

    I would sponsor one of the kids sure enough! I do at least two Christmas Angels a year anyways (picking them off the Salvation Army tree, or the YMCA)...I'd be glad to do this. :grouphug:

    Oh, and some $$ goes to the 4042 Christmas family (s)

    <rant on>

    Christmas is so over reated. It SHOULD be about speding time with family and friends, NOT who can have the latest and greatest items. grrrr. :boxing:

    I'll probably spend about the same. I've only bought 3 presents so far. :neutral:

    They're $69.99 at BJ's.

    I got my teenage ds one last year and he loves it. Kell, if you get them one you might want to go ahead and get a second set of wheels too, because the wheels will wear out in less than a year if they ride them much at all. DS is getting a couple of sets of extra wheels for his for Christmas this year.

    To answer the OP, I'll probably be spending the same or, hopefully, less.

    We'll probably spend about the same as we did last year, but I started shopping this summer.
    As a matter of fact, I was just thinking the other day that I need to kick DH and the girls out of the house for a day so that I can go thru the closets and figure out what I've bought, lol....

    LOL, I always did that when the kids were still at home. Start shopping early, and then have to figure out what I've already got and what I still need to get. But I always loved to spread everything out and go through it all! :lol:
