Ugh! I'm praying, but they did find a woman's body today close to where she disappeared. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/2008/10/28/2008-10-28_leah_walsh_long_island_teacher_missing_a.html
Just out of curiosity, and not in the least attempting to detract from what appears to be a horrible incident, but why did you post a news item from something that happened in New York? I mean, yes this is horrible and all, but women go missing all over the country, what made this one special enough for you to post?
Because it seems to be an epidemic here lately and not just in our neck of the woods. Why does it matter where it happened?
Well, it doesn't really. But, as I said, since it happens all over the country, I was wondering why this one was special enough to warrant posting, as opposed to this one in Tennessee, this one in Pennsylvania, or this one in Oklahoma. Just wondering if it was someone special to you, or if you had special ties to her, that's all.
I understand, and there are many, many women who go missing every day, and yet they do not get a specific post on 4042. I was just curious if this one happened to be special to mnredsky.
This one is all over the news today Clif. Missing woman, ugly email, fight with husband, unidentified body.
I don't think Clif was asking a stupid question at all, actually. I probably would have wondered the same thing, like is that the town the OP was from or something like that. I didn't read the article in the link, I'm frankly tired of hearing all these terrible stories and hearing the news these days. I'm not even watching the news anymore. Iclick on WRAL at the beginning and end of each day to see if there's anything important right around here I need to know about, and that's it. News sucks anymore.
There aren't enough hours in the day to post them all......................... How about the disturbing statistic I heard yesterday that 15% of our women soldiers are assaulted by their male collegues. They are more likely to be assaulted than they are to be killed in combat. That is pathetic and sick.
Big story on the CBS morning news yesterday. Makes my blood boil to think that a woman who is fighting for this country has to worry about fending off attacks from her own fellow soldiers.
how about she posted it because SHE CAN. how about that? there is no reason. she just felt like it. same reason Wulfpack ree-ree is posting every stupid, blasphemous thing he can find. same reason there is a post about a fundraiser for the Band to go to Macy's parade. same reason I had to write a letter to God. Same reason we are supporting a family or two for Christmas this year. CUZ WE CAN!! drive through please!:banghead:
I was thinking to myself, unfortunately how soon will we hear of another military related death in Fayetteville or Jacksonville. It's terrible.
In this instance, it's just Clif being Clif. Arguing for the sake of arguing. People can post anything they want. He can sit there and say he was "just wondering" all day long, but I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday. Must be slow in the political threads today.
But on a serious note, too many women are having their lives taken too early. I just don't understand how people can live with the fact that they killed someone they were suppose to love.
Missing Women Unfortunatly, Sad to say that there is all sorts of reasons as to what could be happening to these women. Domestic Violence and Other violent crimes should be punished to the fullest extent of the law and maybe if these stories get thier exposure in the Media then maybe the people who make our laws will notice and enact tougher punishments against these acts. Yes, some of these may be of a random nature, and it truly does not reflect very positive on the human element in this world today. It is a truly sad world we live in these days with all thats going on, to have to hear of these tragic stories no matter where they happen. May God Bless all the victims and families of all violent crimes.
