We just moved from an apartment to a house and, of course, have a whole lot of cardboard boxes. How do I get rid of them? The waste company won't take them unless they are in the bin (even broken down). I don't think they're good anough to pass on to another mover (that's how I got them) I understand there are "centres" in the area that will take them, but I don't know where they are and, if it matters, we're now located in Wake county (off Raynor and White Oak). Ideas? Opinions? TIA
build a fort for the grandkids spray paint some silver and make robots out of them that's all I got so far
Post them on Craigslist in the "Free" section. One Man's trash is another Man's treasure. It may be that some other family is planning a move soon & they may be able to use your boxes.
That's how I got them to begin with. By now, they are no longer usable, though. The wardrobes, for example, have tears in them that prevent the hanger bars from staying in place.
I know some of the schools that had the recycling bins in their parking lots use to have a special bin for cardboard.............
That's what I was looking for, thanks. If it was just a box or two (or three) I'd go ahead and drop them in one of these, but they are private dumpsters that the company has to pay for. Thanks anyway.
when I moved a few years back, I asked for permission to use them. I wasn't implying otherwise....they get recycled that way too.
Not sure about these companies, but I know that my company used to have one for cardboard only that we did not have to pay for, and the trash company was making their money off the the recycling part. Now we have a huge shredder and baling systems that chips everything up and compacts it into small bales that weigh about 400 lbs each. Craig
every johnston county land fill will take recycleables free, you dont have to have a sticker either, they moved the one on 50/210hwy to old fairground and stephenson rd, i try to take all my recycleables there
Call Jacob with Junk be gone 650-9224, alto of our neighbors had him come out and love him. I think the convenience center on Barber Mill has a place to recycle cardboard too. Sorry I don't have a number.
