    M21B,

I don't think there are any food allergies. One person already privately PMd me about making some homemade cookies, and I've told her to go ahead, and you tell your parents to go ahead. I think with the two of them, we'll have that part covered.

HG and I can surely meet up with your mom, not a problem! And tell them thanks!

A friend I sent the info to asked about non-perishable food. Is that something she can send or no? Thanks!

Yes, non perishable food is fine.

As long as it's not a truckload, lol. I'm limited to storage space.

    Shameless Reminder!

I know that I personally only have a few more pay periods till Christmas, so I'm having to budget things out. As you're getting your paycheck, if you find you have $20 extra dollars, please go ahead and set it aside.

I can take your paypal donations, meet you to grab cash, etc. Let's try not to wait until the last minute.

    Once again, thanks!

I can keep it in my spare room as long as needed. Thanks! :)

Maybe we can do a food drive as well as Christmas toys? I would hate for them to just get food for Christmas, but I think the parents would appriciate the extra food. With triples here, I could get some of the 'free stuff' that I dont need to donate!

JK, as long as it's NOT raining that day we can take my truck (long bed) this year if we don't think we'll have room in your truck.

We'll just wait and see how much stuff comes in for the families.

I think a food drive is a fine idea, but my concern too is that we wind up with a truckload of food and no toys. The kids would be heartbroken.

As long as we can continue to make sure the kids still get "christmas", then I'm good with that!

I also have a new, BIG vehicle. My mom always called them, "the hearse"! :) It's a Dodge Magnum and has LOTS of cargo room.

like i told HG, our truck is available if needed and it has a covered bed in case of foul weather (comes in really handy when we are totting Christmas presents to VA:))

I have a friend who told her mom about this. They would like to provide Christmas dinner for 2 of the families. I told her I thought that was awesome. I also received a TON off things from my sister! Just an update...

Have you got COD 4 yet?

After re-reading the wish lists I couldn't find COD4... did I dream that up?

Wasn't one of the boys asking for Call of Duty 4?

Is that an Xbox 360 game? He thought he would be able to trade his Xbox and his store credit to get a 360, but they wouldn't take his trade. So he didn't get it. But he has the Xbox, can he play it on that?

No, COD4 can only be played on the 360. I'll see what I can do. ;)

Just a little weekly reminder. I know that my paychecks before Christmas run thin. So I have to plan in advance if I'm giving to others....

I can accept Paypal, or meet you to pick up a donation.

Let's band together as a community and make sure these kids have a GREAT Christmas!

Jen and everyone, can you update us on what all is still needed, what we could lean towards vs what might not be as necessary right now ... I want to participate, but am not sure where to start.

    Elims,

I think we've got food covered.

What we really need are the wish list donations, or cash/gift cards.

In all honesty, our biggest need is the cash/gift cards. If you prefer, you can designate which family your donation is to go to. FYI, I never hand cash to the families. I either use it to buy wish list items, or I give them gift cards.

Thanks, and BUMP! We have a long way to go!
