You know your driveway is too muddy when.....

I went by the new house in the dark last night and got stuck!! I just had to be towed out of my own driveway! How embarrassing!

102 feet would do about 1/10th of our driveway, or less.........

    ;)

I'm gonna have to stick with gravel, got a quote from Stephenson's, but they measured the gravel in yards- I'm used to it being measured by the ton so I have some calculating to do.

Anyone remember the "Chisum-bop" method they used to advertise on TV in the 70's???? The (mostly) asian kids counting with their fingers on the table.......supposed to be the next greatest thing in math. I just thought of that and it made me laugh.

take your yards and times that by roughly 1.9 and that will convert to tons.

Nah, he just needs to give her the measurements of the drive and she will tell him how many yards he needs - they deliver by the yard not tons.

rock quarrys deal in tons not yards on rock products.

yes they do, but Stephensons is not a quarry - they sell mulch, rocks, sand, crush & run, etc. i used to be able to tell you the relationship between yard vs ton but it has been too long.

    Thx guys.

I got a quote from Stephenson's for a rough measurement of ~800 ft x ~10ft x 2in. They said ~ 4 dump truck loads at ~$1600 total and they gave me the total number of Cu. yards that would be (I wrote it down but don't have it handy right now and I can't do the math in my head right now either.......).

I just wanted to compare their price per yard to my previous price which was measured by the ton....to see how it compared.

    Thx again.

    Rig.

don't do the whole driveway. just do the strips where your tires will go, and mow the center. a two foot wide strip 500 feet long twice, is probably a hell of a lot cheaper than an eight foot wide strip that long....

I remember Chisum-bop....my sister and I still say it when joking around, counting with our fingers!!
