An email has been passed down through USO of NC from the NC National Guard. I thought I would share it here for those who might know someone who would like a Free Dinner courtesy of Golden Corral.

Subject: FREE Dinner at Golden Corral

    Mark your calendars!!!
All Golden Corral restaurants are hosting a Military Appreciation Dinner on Monday, November 17 (1700-2100). Any person who has served in the US Military will receive a FREE meal (this includes veterans, retirees, National Guard, Reserves, and Active Duty Soldiers).

For more information, please check out this link:

My personal suggestion would be to contact the Golden Corral nearest you to be certain all Golden Corral restaurants are participating in this event.

Uniform not required. :) I spoke with the managers at GC at 4042 to thank them for hosting this dinner annually. They are honored to host us.
So, my brothers and sisters and comrades in arms, come join your family and break bread with us, as we can.

Here is something on a little different note....

There was an episode of One Tree Hill (on the CW network) filmed down in Jacksonville that will feature a USO concert.
The episode of One Tree Hill which features the USO of NC @ Jacksonville will air next Monday, Nov 11th.

They do list the Raleigh NC location. Between Crabtree mall and Best Buy I think.

Thank you! After I read this I went back and re-read. I skipped right over Raleigh.

I hope some folks will turn out and support these businesses for acknowledging our Military.

I am a VET and have a question. Do we need to bring anything to the restaraunt to show them? Some friends and I were going to go last year but stuff came up. I red the link but it did not mention anything about it. Does anyone who may have went last year have any idea? Or should I just call them? :?:

I was going to bring a copy of my DD-214 just in case they asked.

Good thing I read this, my #1 son was saying that it was going to be tomorrow, which would have worked well since Tuesdays are also "Kids Eat Free" night.

No ID required. And, if a person is low enough that they claim to be a vet and are not, well that says so much more about them, does it not. If they are hungry, I'd rather they say that, and allow me to buy the meal for them.

And, as I understand, donations for a veterans group will be accepted.

Thank you, M&S for hosting dinner. It was delicious. Service was impeccable, the food was outstanding. Will definitely make a return visit.
