And here is why... I had to make an unexpected trip to the vet today with one of my furry babies. She's an older girl and is having some bladder issues here lately. :-( The vet did a complete physical on her, did a urinanalysis (no diabetes, thank God) and took an x-ray of her whole body (large film.) While I was there I picked up 6 Heartgard pills and a month's supply of Soloxine (thyroid medicine.) My TOTAL bill was only $116! Tell me of another vet's office where you could get all that and walk out of the door with a bill that low! Stage Road Animal Hospital 639-3337 :hurray:
Hmmm, may have to switch! I took Molly on Monday and it was $65 for them to tell me that she was in heat (duh!) and gave me an ecollar...................not sure why the bill was so high!
Stage Road I took our 2 kittens there as well. We've only been there once, but they were very nice, gave us a big bag of food, did all the shots, and didn't try to up-sell us on anything. Great people!
AMEN - I love my (OUR!) VET Too!!! Stage Road is the best ever!!! Maria & Paul + the new vet Dr. Hackett<sp?> - are all great! Woof Woof says the same.
Oh, they are the best! They cured the heartworms our rescue dog had & at a more reasonable fee than our then current vet offered. He caught a respiratory infection when he stayed overnight for his last round & the vet only charged us for meds. Switched our other dog there & her yearly physical w/heartworm test, fecal exam, 3 yr rabies shot & 6 month supply of heartworm meds for our rescue dog & it was a little over $100. I about fell over - I even asked the receptionist if she had charged me for the heartworm meds. Yep, she had. At our old vet it was well over $100 w/no meds, shot or tests though she did have an ear cleaning. So glad we switched & the dogs love them too.
I know I am probably going to sound like a complete idiot here but, what was the ecollar for? Where is Stage Rd. Vet? Sounds like a great vet for my furry babies. Harley keeps trying to beat the crap out of Cheyenne. They sound like they are going to tear each other up, but they aren't even touching except that Harley has Cheyenne pinned to the ground on top of her growling. She does this for no reason at all. Any idea why they do this??? The girls need to be fixed, that is their Christmas present.....plus chewy toys and stuffed animals that they will tear to shreds the first day:lol: and lots of lovin of course...
She was paying a bit too much attention to one end. I put her in a diaper though, and that worked much better.
AAAhhhhhhh.....got it. Didn't know if that was some way to keep the males away. I am definently calling that vet.
Luckily she only goes out to do her business, so we've had no issues with males. I still can't beieve I have to wait til January now. But I have no one to blame but myself. :?
Directions to Stage Rd Animal Hosp... Hwy 210 going towards Angier. Turn left on Old Stage Rd (at caution light, or is it a stop light now .) 1st brick building on left. Hopefully having them spayed will ease the aggression issues you've got going on now. Sounds like a dominance thing to me. You know how bitchy those female dogs can be.
Just what I was looking for!!! Had an altercation at my vet today regarding, what I think is redundant/unnecessary bloodwork, and I just called an got an appointment for next week at Stage Rd. I cannot believe the other vet would let someone leave their practice after three years and the thousands I have spent (I have four animals; one is a diabetic cat and the other is an arthritic dog). My feelings are hurt, but now I am looking forward to my experience at Stage Rd.
Yeah for Stage Road! Love them all!!!! Love them all!!!! Love them all!!!! Love them all!!!! Love them all!!!! repeat!
Thanks Ready. Yea I know how bitchy females are.. I will give them a shout. My girls are not going to be happy about being spayed, but I darn sure will be. I got the little one neutered before he got into "trouble" with my girls.
I love love love this vet! They are awesome! Its also an added bonus that they are about 5 minutes from the house! I've recommended Stage Rd. to my friends with fur babies! We had unexpected babies 2 years ago and I got puppy shots and meds for 5 pups for about $130. I thought that was a deal! We had a runt in that litter who was only about 1 1/2 lbs to the other 8-9lb babies and she had issues with her shots and almost died in the vet but they saved her! She knew exactly what to do and had her going again in no time!
Mendoza, Malocha, and Hackett are great! I take all my babies there. They are more than reasonable and the staff rules! If one of the critters has an extended hospital stay, they actually invite me back to visit. Nothing but love for Stage Road!
Another thing is that they do not push stuff on you and do not make you feel guilty for not treating your pet exactly as you would a human child (hey, I do the best I can for my dogs, but I have 3 kids and 3 dogs at home and I'm not made of money, kwim?) Anyway, my little Pom girl that I had to take in the other day is doing 100% better now. The vet (Dr. Paul) and I talked and we decided to simply try changing her diet BEFORE doing lots of (possibly) unnecessary tests. :hurray:
She's been eating Nutro Natural Choice Lamb & Rice for over a year now with no problems. I always mix her dry with canned Nutro Natural Choice Lamb & Rice (she can't eat chicken... it's not pretty if she does. :ack Well, I decided to give her a change of pace and bought her one of those Pet Botanics Lamb & Brown Rice rolls that has the consistency of a summer sausage. She loved it but I'm afraid it has too much salt in it or something because she started drinking water like there was no tomorrow and having LOTS of accidents in the house. After having her checked to make sure it wasn't diabetes I (with Dr. Paul's approval) just put her back on her normal diet of Nutro and, voila, problem solved.
I've found this link to be quite helpful Ingredient Wizard I use only California Natural for my pets. The comparison windows are very helpful with detailed ingredient info. Compare Cal Nat Lamb and Rice to your brand and you'll see what I mean.
