You can take you AL CANS to Cleveland Elem School!!! The school has a big special dumpster on the Right front side over by the cafeteria.

Tossing them into the TRASH is just so wrong! Grrrrrrr.

    Correct, we have a winner.

Barber Mill Rd goes all the way to NC 42 near Clayton.

There is no charge for recycling only trash. They are closed on Wed and Sun and some holidays.

When I have gone to Baraber Mill I go all the way past the compactor (for trash) and there are dumpsters for cardboard, cans, glass (which has to be sorted by color), plastic, oil, newspaper. They even take white goods.

I live in Cleveland but work in Raleigh (Dix Campus). I have been taking all my stuff to the bins in the Sam's Club parking lot. They take all cans, not just aluminum, and paper board (cereal boxes, frozen dinner boxes, etc), laundry detergent jugs, etc.

    We use McGee's.

My condolences. Those people suck. I used them for about a year, and they were the rudest, dumbest group of people I've ever dealt with. And I'm in health care. I meet a LOT of people.

We use the McGee's drop off, on Stephenson Rd. It is not free in that you have to pay a yearly sticker fee, but with that you can use any site in Johnston County, including the big landfill in Smithfield.

    Here's a good link.

You do need a sticker for trash, but not for recycling. So if you have regular trash pickup and just want to drop off your recycling, you don't need the sticker. But if you're going there anyway, might as well take your own trash - I think the sticker for the whole year is about the same as the quarterly fee for trash pickup.

    Oops, you're right, my mistake.

I did just what you suggested - we were taking only our recycling there, but later cancelled our trash pickup in favor of taking everything to the drop off.
