I did a search first, but nothing came up. I would like to hear what Wii owners have to say about the Wii, good and bad. We are considering purchasing one. I have seen they run about $249.99 everywhere. Does anyone know of a place that sells them cheaper?

We enjoy ours. It was well worth whatever we paid for it.
Game software can be kinda pricey. FWIW, we have no fighting games. Sports stuff, academics, things the family can share.

wii's are all $249. they have been that for the last 2 years. as with all gaming systems, they are priced the same no matter where you get them.

I am considering buying one for my family as well. I have 2 girls 6, and 11 so we would be looking for family games too. Anyone seen them in stock locally?:?:

I think Walmart gets their electronic shipments in on Tuesdays, early-ish between 8:30 and 9:30. I was there one morning and they got 3 Wii's and 3 Wii fits.

I'm not sure when Target gets their shipments. There were 5 Wii's left on Saturday and no Wii Fit. They, like Walmart do not get that many in.

Best Buy receives shipments on Wednesday and Friday. They will get about 45 at a time.

Best thing is to start looking now and when you see it, get it. I started in September and got lucky. The next time I saw them a month had gone by, and it's been about a month since the last time.

    Hope this info helps.

We don't actually have one, but my in laws do and our teenage boys love it. I will not play their PS2 or XBox, but when we all go to my in laws, I will play games with them on the Wii. We like the sports games...tennis, baseball, bowling, etc.

According to my neighbors kid that works at Walmart, they do get a bunch in. But the majority of them go out the door to people who have purchased them online and opt for in-store pick-ups.

I saw some at the Target at North Hills Friday.

I would just call places and see if they have them before going. course, they could be gone by the time you get there.

All I know is that they got three in to put on the floor that day. The lady working in the dept. didn't tell me about the others. The Wii fits they got in that day were turned around so if you weren't looking for it you wouldn't know it was there. I only knew they came in because I saw one walk out of the store (purchased) and I went over there and bought one too. I called my friend and by the time she got over there the last one was gone. It kind of stinks though that they get more in, but they only get just a few to put out on the floor.

I've heard that some stores offer a better deal online if you purchase a bundle, that might be an option if you aren't able to check back at the stores.

We absolutely love ours. Unlike other game systems, it requires you to be active. You can even be really active if you want. We are getting a Wii Fit for Christmas. DH just happened to be in Walmart on a Tuesday and they had one, so he went ahead and got it. I saw Walmart in Fuquay had 1 Wii in stock. I'm sure it was sold shortly. Just keep checking, we waited 4 months after Christmas to finally find one.

We love ours. I purchased ours online by watching Wii Alerts http://wiialerts.com/login.php I just checked and Amazon.com has it available for $249.99 with free shipping. Good luck.

Thanks everyone for the info! I like the idea that the kids have to be active not just sit and push buttons like other game consoles. I also thought it would be a good thing to play as a family sometimes.

We ended up getting ours as a bundle from Dell. We also will be getting a wii fit for Christmas. We happened to be in Target at White Oak and spotted it a few weeks ago, so went ahead and grabbed it up. My daughter loves to play the sports games because she can actually get up and get into them. Love it!

Can anyone comment on the kind of games that are included with the purchase of the basic product?

if you want brand new you won't find one for less then $249.

We just got one 2 weeks ago at best buy. They had about 10 on hand, however not counting myself 3 of them were picked up within 5min.

if you need more then one numchuck (remote) buy the sports game that comes with a remote. You only end up paying about $10 more then if you only bought a remote. This way you also get a game.
