:iagree: was his daughter picked over for this girl and thats why the bitterness? One little tongue wag, I saw it and it looked part of the act and was no big deal. very well done.

They were rolling! They must have had really good wheels because it looked like they were rolling along pretty effortlessly, huh? :)

The band did awesome. I thought they sounded just as good as a college band. These kids just got to experience a trip of a lifetime and I hope they enjoyed it. If any of you have been keeping up with this band, these kids get to go all over the country because of their talents. This band is creating an atmosphere that will NEVER be forgotten.

And for some of you, I guess you will complain about anything and everything.

We missed the parade on tv, so the link is very much appreciated. Loved the performance, those are some very talented kids.

I am not complaining. I just thought sticking out the tongue is in poor taste.

I can see why maybe you don't 'get it', let me try to explain.

In colorguard the girls are trained to exaggerate their facial expressions and to be animated. If you saw the whole performance, she had picked up the guys horn, then he climbed up and took it from her, so she was just being playfully mad at him, as she had been instructed to do, it was all in good fun!

If she would have done that instead of sticking out her tongue you would probably bash her for that also

I was proud to see a JoCo band in the parade as well. I have a question regarding the flag girls. Is it common place for all color guard ladies, flag girls or what have you, to have the long "hair pieces" or "fake pony tails" in performances or is it a WJ thing? I'm just asking before you lose your minds band parents. I'm just curious.

Former Member of the Percussion Section of NJHS '93...........

You as a member of the 93 marching band will appreciate that colorguards used to only where their hair in a french braid or a bun. :)looks right then left: I still wear my hair like that ... sometimes .. okay more than I should:)

I hear you but those were hair pieces not natural hair. I assuming it was used for "flair", going along with an increased amount of make up. It is show business too a certain extent. Anyways, a JoCo band in NYC........Nice.

This is the first yr that West has had the fake hair, and no, its not uncommon for colorguard to wear stuff like that. And they do wear theatrical looking makeup - so that it can been seen from a distance or to bring out facial features. They had the pony tails for their field show this yr, not just NYC.

You should attend the Colorguard competitions (West has one in Feb, schools from all over the east coast attend) you'd be surprised at the costumes and stuff. West is VERY tame compared to some of the others.........

WJ weren't the only ones with hair pieces. I think it looks nice when they all have the same hair-dos. :)
