I have a question about Vegas for those of you that have been. I don't drink and I've never gambled other than a few slots at the Cherokee casino. Is it still worth a like weekend trip to go to Vegas for someone like me? I know Southwest has cheap flights to Vegas from Raleigh. Anyone chime in.

why not at least visit one time and watch the people at the very least... Go to see the dam. Plenty of entertainment. You like to eat.

That Global WEarming is something, ain't it?

That all depends on what someone like you likes to do. There's a lot more to Vegas than gambling and drinking. In fact, over the last few years they seem to be down playting the gambling in favour of focusing on more of the family activities.

There is LOTS to see-an EYE popping lots to see.

Drive off the strip & see some of the state. Hoover Dam is a must see. It is just massive.

YES! I am not a drinker (glass of wine occasionally) either....and I think everyone should go at least once....there is a lot to see and do (and lots of reason's to say, "only in Vegas"), besides the gambling and drinking....its unlike any other place on earth. I say go!!

Yes! Everyone should go at least once just to see the lights! I went about 20 yrs ago, would like to go again since a lot of the hotels have been blown up and replaced. First time didn't go to any shows, we were passing through and we were broke, so would like to go to some of the shows next time.

  16. My husband and I just got back from Vegas - we aren't big drinkers - a glass of wine w/ dinner type - we aren't gamblers either (other than $10 in the slots just to say we did it) - and we loved it. There is so much to do - shows, food, Hoover Dam, sight see (especially the hotels)... we were there 3 days and could have spent another day or two... It's definately somewhere to visit once - we would probably go back. It's definately the city that never sleeps. We flew Southwest and it was great - I will say though get a direct flight - we didn't and had to go through Chicago (it was a long 8 hour flight to go that route). Fall would be the best time to go - it is VERY windy so the 50-60 degree days can seem colder.

Love visiting Vegas but don't drive around by yourself. I got caught up in looking at all the lights once and ran several traffic lights...good thing others were looking out for Southern drivers (tee hee).

HG, I was married in Reno and divorced in Atlanta. Both were extremely hot days.......................:jester:

    Love it,

I might just be an old fuddyduddy (well the use of that word confirmed it), but I enjoyed Las Vegas and if we spent 15 minutes gambling the full week we were there I would be surprised. We spent a week seeing the sites with a day trip to the Grand Canyon.

We stayed at the Marriot Residence Inn for two reasons 1) I got more Marriot points than I know what to do with sometinmes and 2) Going to its Morman nature they do not have casionos or gambeling on the premises, this allowed me piece and quit when I wanted it.
