I also would rather have them. I have found some pretty interesting stuff on these things, including some seriously dangerous criminals, running around your neighborhoods.

    * Like it or not, they are off the street now.
    * Like it or not, DWI crashes are reduced 20% by the checkpoints.
    * Like it or not, you'll have to present your license when passing through one. * Finally, like it or not, if you turn around on one, we will be right behind ya! ;)

You guys should really read through the BLET stuff if you get an opportunity. It's a great way to learn about what an LEO can and can't do. I know that some of you already know quite a bit but for those that don't, it's a great way to get some insight. Another interesting read is the Crimes manual by Robert Farb. Good stuff....

Night all, until tomorrow. See you on Josephine road!!

Just returned an unsolicited Smart _____ comment with my own and hopefully got my point across at the same time. Lord knows I have generated enough unsolicited Smart ______ comments myself! :)

For a moron, the guy hasnt been arrested yet that I've seen :p Seems to me he knows the law well enough that the officers are scared to touch him. I no doubt think he'd be face down on the hood around here, when someone sent me the link years ago, that was my first comment. I kept watching his videos just waiting for him to get tasered (people getting tasered cracks me up BTW). After the first 25 or so, I said "wow, this guy is really onto something, they just keep telling him to move on".

I thank you for your service to the community. As I stated before, I am polite and respectful until the end, or the officer violates my rights, or is just a jerk, whichever comes first. If I ever have to go infront of a magistrate, then so be it. Maybe I'll ride up and down Josephine tonight :)

I was under the assumption that the statement was as it reads. The period denoting that "Night all, until tomorrow" Was a goodbye to us on 4042 as in, I am now leaving. The next sentence eluded to being on Josephine road. Being that the first sentence was him leaving, the second one would typically announce where they were going. I'll try to get a more detailed itinerary next time before I make a joke. :p

LOL - I WAS on Josephine today. I haven't gotten much chance to work it before but made it a point today. Wow, they do like to drive fast on there!

True, but it is a very rare occasion i would be on that road - the poster just seems a little bit too out there to be for real, but hey, what do i know:lol:

I have no personal objection to a license check, you can look at mine anytime, as well as my proof of inspection and insurance.
What I don't understand is how the point of the stops can be to stop DUIs? A random license check can only catch a small percentage, how can it really make a difference? Wouldn't stiffer penalties be a much bigger deterent? How many times do you hear of a drunk driver, who has been arrested multiple times in the past, killing someone? Why aren't they locked up after their third DUI offense? Take them off the streets and really protect the rest of us!

ScienceDaily (Oct. 9, 2008) — Although communities commonly use sobriety checkpoints and increased police patrols to detect drivers under the influence of alcohol, a new review finds that there is not enough evidence to say definitively that the efforts work to cut down the number of accidents and deaths from drunk driving.

“Increased police patrols might be effective, but we do not yet have enough evidence to prove that they are,” said lead reviewer Cynthia Goss of the Colorado Injury Control Research Center and the Colorado School of Public Health.

I'm not sure we should wait for the third time. If you get popped for a DUI 2 times within say 3 years, You are a habitual offender, and have a drinking problem. 1 year locked up should clean your system right out. 3rd time within 5 years, you should do hard time. I'm talkin breakin rocks on a chaingang hard. Playing with these clowns is really hurting the public. I am amazed @ recent changes in the laws where when illegals commit crimes, they deport them. A definate step in the right direction. Maybe one day we'll finally get hte criminal justice system right.

Since I don't lie, I take offense to your statement. No problem though...I know the truth and you are assuming, no sleep loss my end.

Welcome to the Forum Andy. Tell Barney I said "Howdy".

See a trend, speak up. Guess that's why all of us got ours dismissed.

Citizens arrest, Citizens arrest...if I find that you pull be over due to profiling I will do a "Citizens Arrest"....that's how serious I take your Post.

    Dinner time,
    Sherry
