Ok last minute ideas for cheap stocking stuffers. Cheap is the operative word here!:lol: For a grown man for a 6 year-old-boy and for a 2 year-old-girl Candy is a given. I wanna think outside of the box. :mrgreen:
DH Razors, shaving cream, chapstick, lotion (because hands do get chapped) gloves, $5 giftcard to McD's, Subway, etc... Kids Go to the dollar tree and load up girl, that's where I do most of my stocking shopping.
Michaels has several bins of goodies that range from $1.00 to I think $5.00 perfect for the 6 year old. Also, at target, as soon as you walk in there are bins with stuffer type things, miny puzzles, stickers, activity books, mini toys etc. As mentioned the dollar store is always a good idea.
I got stuff from the party goodie sections of target and walmart: little magic 8 balls, wooden wiggly snakes, play-do, card games...
Go one step more and get a powerball ticket.. Your not a player unless you have a ticket to get in.. I'm sure others have won not thinking they had a chance at all.
Silly String...for all three (tee hee) Grills - for the six year old boy...the ones I am talking about are plastic/rubber and fit over the teeth. Multipack should run around $1.50 (6 included) and each has like a fake diamond or something on the front tooth. Kids have a blast with them. I agree with going to the Dollar Store. Pencils, pens, jigsaw puzzles, journals, etc. For the hubby, other than Silly String, right now Bed, Bath and Beyond has areas that we hit yesterday with loads of things he would enjoy and would fit in the stocking. Not sure if Linens and Things is still open at White Oak. Hubby: Miracle Foot Repair lotion. That stuff is amazing and can be used on the hands as well. Back scratcher (so the kids and wife don't have to do it anymore...laughing), Those flashlight things that wrap around stuff. And they have a whole section of "As Seen on TV" items. Way cool. My teen stated that she thought those items were only sold on TV and that they only had a certain amount. I laughed and laughed as did other people. You know, those Obama plates they keep showing on TV? They had two display full of them...how funny. Good luck, Sherry
My son likes music, so I bought a First Act harmonica for a stocking stuffer last night at Wal-Mart. He's also getting a guitar, so if I talk crazy after Christmas...chances are I have gone insane.
Speaking of Linens N Things, I think yesterday was their last day. We bought a shopping cart, lol. No, I don't know why we need a shopping cart, but my DH wanted it, so it's now in my garage.
So, the one at White Oak is still open? We were in Cary and that one was closed with just some people taking down displays and all. Think it is worth a trip to White Oak for a bargain? Shopping cart...........man it could be used for a whole bunch of things. Thanks, Sherry
At Walmart they have a section with some cheap, but good stuff. My son loves silly putty. The silly putty is in that section as is probably less than two dollars for a two pack. It isn't as messy as playdoh can be. And there are other things worth checking out. It is next to the playdoh section at the Clayton Walmart. But speaking of playdoh you can get a 3 pack pretty cheap if the 2 year old likes that sort of thing. And maybe a coloring book and crayons.
Go to Cracker Barrel and buy hubby (and kids) some of the old fashion candy and they have lots of other neat things too. I love to go in that place!
For girl, hair accessories (scrunchies, pretty barrettes, hairbows), one-size fits all type gloves with favorite cartoon character if possible, cool larger bouncey balls but watch the size thing at that age, punching balloons ( the big ones with the rubber bands so you can punch them ), big-kid silverware with cartoon character handles, an electric toothbrush or character toothbrush, an animal washcloth glove/mitt thingie. For boy, one size fits all gloves with cartoon character, 25 piece puzzle, matchbox cars, pick-up sticks game or card game like go-fish or slamwich, a balsam wood glider to put together, finger skateboards, slingshot, harmonica, kazoo. For husband, chamois cloths, screwdrivers or other tools, work gloves, wool socks, windshield scrapers, money clip, new wallet, cd/dvd case, blank cd's, travel coffee mug. Those are some of the many things I've done over the years.
