I love Stage Road! I have 5 dogs, 7 cats and 2 goats. A friend recommended Stage Road several years ago after being chastised at Banfield for simply asking if there was an over the counter equivalent for a topical medication they were prescribing. Money was tight and I had no intention of neglecting my kitty, I just wanted to know if I could find a less expensive way to treat her. I have taken all my pups and kitties to Stage Road. I have never been disappointed and my animals are always treated with love and care. I love that they start with the simplest possible explanation and work from there. I believe this saves my fur babies from unnecessary "poking and prodding." LOVE LOVE LOVE Stage Road!! :hurray:
I need a new vet for my furkids! I need to check out Stage Road Vet...I've taken my cat & dog to three different vets and have not been happy with them at all. Just one question though, when Stage does the exam do they do it in the same room as you or do they take your pet away? Each vet I go to takes my pet away when they do the physcial exam and it kind of bothers me. Thanks for all of your help!!
At Stage Road all my pets have been examined with me right there. Usually holding them in my lap. Sometimes I sit on the table & help hold the big baby; other times I have just held my cat children in my arms. *** I can hold them safely so that no one gets bitten or scratched. Same with the big Woof Woof child. I have never been to a vet that took the pet "in the back". I also would NOT like that.
:iagree: I agree, just came back from the Clayton Animal Clinic with my "set of lungs" and I always go in the back and am there for the whole physical.
I have to give a shout out for Dr. Basden at Cleveland School Animal Hospital. One of my dogs was recently found to be severely anemic and Dr. Basden was very efficient at ruling out the possible causes and always being very kind and helpful when she would call me personally to discuss the test results. We discovered that he had lyme disease and he is now on treatments and will be fine :hurray:. She truly is wonderful.
:iagree: I treat my pets like I'd treat me and any illness I'd have. Dr Debbie was straight with me and always has been. She NEVER said "is Shelby up to date on her shots", not once, she cared about Shelby, me, DH and then Mattie. I can't say enough good things about her. I know this is a slippery slope (everyone has their favorite vet), BUT, they (Old Stage Rd) just misdiagnosed my sisters lab with cancer. She didnt have cancer! I appreciate someone being up front with me and the situation at hand and knowing how to deal with it. JMHO! Of Course! I still love ya'll eventhough we use different vets!
my vet is dr. barbour, she is at crepe myrtle animal hospital in angier, shes out of the way, we used to live in angier and when we moved to clayton we kept her, usually we go once a year, but pengie getting sick and us getting 2 kittens weve gone more than usual. we got a quick apt for pengie when he was dying and they all are very good when you put one down. our apts last a long time cause she takes time to talk to you and she always gets us laughing, except when she put tommy and pengie down.:hurray:
Went to Stage Road this morning and they fit us in with the two new kittens we have now. $33 bucks each for them, and that included check up, check for worms and also did first shot and checked for feline Luk. Also got two buckets of kitten food. You can't beat that price at all. They were all nice to me and where great with the kittens. They both had round worm, (which I knew they had something) and they were both a little underweight as well. They are in a much better place now. oh we were told they were girls, but they are boys.
After hearing all of the praise from the board as well as members of my family about Stage Road, I referred my friend there. She had an emergency situation with her dog and couldn't find anyone that would work with her on a payment plan. Long story short, they hospitalized the dog overnight, corrected a hernia, gave him 3 vaccines, a 3-yr rabies shot, neutered him, and sent her home with 3 syringes of pain meds...her bill was $298. If I would have been at my Vet (I truly adore them...excelent with my babies), it would have been at least $1000. She asked if he gave her a discount and he said that was their price. She was able to pay him in full since it was not nearly as much as she thought it would be.
HI All!!! Well I too am taking the Stage Road plunge. It's going to be a bit further to drive, but well worth the savings. This is a really big step for me, I have been with CAH for 10-15 years now, with all my many babies. But last time I went for a normal check-up it was over $400.00 - for 2. I actually called after leaving and talked to one of the assistants and her additude was well 'it is what it is', take us or leave us. There was no care in her voice at all that a customer of over 15 years (Thousands of $$$$$) was considering leaving. She basically said well when you decide let us know and we will forward the records. I contacted CAH again this week before deciding and got a quote for the next check-up, it was going to be another $400.00!!! So, I just hung up with Stage Road and their bill (for the exact same thing) is going to be less then $150.00. My gas is definately not going to cost $250. We are going Monday morning, so I am keeping my fingers crossed and have high expectations! Thanks for all the great reviews!!!!
Well, I think I am going to follow you. Bills are too high and too many freaking tests for this and that at CAH. Stopped in there yesterday to pick up heartworm meds and was told she needed another heartworm test even though she just had one in Dec and she hasn't missed a dose. Ummmmmmm, HELLO!
I completely agree - way to many - well you should do this and you should do that. They did the same thing to us with the heartworm test - Said that if we didn't get it we would have to sign some waiver to get just the pills. And..... if we wanted to get the meds filled with PetMedExpress they were going to charge us a fee to write/approve the prescription. I asked Stage Road about that and they said no fee they do that all the time. I really hate I am switching - we love Dr. Beam.... They are literally forcing us to, we have to save $.That plus the fact they made me feel like all my years of loyalty and referrals are worth nada.
I like Stage Road and am generally happy there. But they did charge me a fee to write a Rx, which pretty much ate up what i was going to save by getting it online. They gave me an attitude about it too. That was the only problem I've ever had with them. If that had been my first visit, I might not have gone back, though.
are you guys talking about Cleveland School Animal Hospital w/Dr. Debbie having such outrageous prices now???? i have a yearly checkup scheduled there w/little one and if they have raised prices that much i may have to rethink it
