I noticed the following on several TWC channels tonight. ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! Attention Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks customers, starting tonight, you will lose your favorite MTV shows on TV and online because of a dispute with Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks. You can stop this! Time Warner Cable customers call 1-800-762-3786 and Bright House Networks customers call 1-866-309-3279, AND DEMAND THEY KEEP YOUR CHANNEL! YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD TO CALL. This is all I was able to find out so far. Will call TWC in the morning. http://www.viacom.com/news/Pages/newstext.aspx?RID=1239897
I saw that this morning as my little one was watching one of the affected channels. These are not just channels that no one watches, these are pretty popular channels! I've been trying to call TWC all morning, so we'll see if I get thru. This might be the straw that broke the camels back.
In a perfect world it seems like the new rates that go in effect should be readjusted - yeah, yeah, yeah -- I know we don't live in a perfect world so I guess I'll be looking to make a switch sooner than later.
going down? that's hilarious. I just got the bill with all the INCREASES listed on the back!! 2 pages worth....:banghead:
Yet they continue to try to block the movement for al a carte pricing. What a perfect world it would be if I could only pay for the channels I watch. The technology is there. Personally, I could do without MTV. It plays nothing but self centered, gaudy excess, and is probably making our kids dumber. MTV used to play music videos and educate people on social causes. Now they run shows like MTV cribs, which should actually be called "How to feel like a failure".
Just got off the phone with TWC I am talking to TWC right now and the rep says that they walked into work this morning to information about this message. She said that TWC is in negotiation with Viacom about these channels. She said that Viacom is wanting you to pay for these channels that are affected but TWC is negotiating to keep them in the package like is already set up. She also said that they feel that the message is the result of a disgruntled employee who has lost their job. She said that never before has there been a one day notice like this. But as of this time, she said that she really did not have any solid information. Karen
They are filled with more BS than me... And thats quite a bit. Have they ever added MASN yet like they were told too?
A la carte pricing might not be any cheaper, if it works anything like phone rates. I hate call waiting, if I'm on the phone and I get another call I wish it would just go to my voice mail. But if I got rid of call waiting and kept my other services, my bill would be more than it is with the package that includes call waiting.
I work for time warner cable and today is the first that this has been talked about. I am sure emails will be going out soon. :?
I am so glad I'm not with TWC. My son loves Noggin, and if we lost it today, I'd have to shoot myself.
We sure do. Go Steelers  I been thinking about going over to DirecTV for a while now mostly for the NFL package, this might push me over the edge.
