My heart aches for him. I also get fearful reading this as my daughter's own seizures have yet to be controlled by medication. She is going to new doctors this month please pray that they will help her get her seizures under control. Last Tues. she had one that lasted longer than normal, she got sick, and hit her head. I am sorry his son died. Seizures are so hard especially when it's your child. It is sad John Travolta's son died from this.
This is so sad. Travolta seems like a decent person who helps others with what he has and in my book that makes he and his wife role models. Our thoughts are with them at this time as they have always been their for others (Katrina victims and all). Sherry
my son had non tractable seizure disorder. We have almost lost him a couple of times, stitched him up a lot. He recently broke his nose and fractured his septum in a seizure related fall and had to have surgery. It's not an easy thing to watch and deal with. Hang in there.
Chik, Who are the doctors that you go too? My son was having seizures a lot last year (07)mostly silent seizures but 2 grand and they are totally under control now. We did have to try a lot of different meds but we have him on an old one now and he has not had a seizure since Nov. 11, 2007, Praise the Lord!!!!! We have had other things going on but not as scary. Good Luck!!! We love our Doctor!!!! My son actually asked me just yesterday could he go live with him.
Please say a prayer for the Travolta Family. Even Fame and Fortune could not help his son. May he rest in Peace in the Lord's arms.:cry:
Yes, this was very sad, and I cannot imagine the pain that family is going through. I don't know how they will even start to move ahead as a family again, but know they will eventually, if for nothing else then for their daughter. I used to have seizures as a child, but luckily mine were the kind that you "outgrow", but still very scary. I remember being sick and throwing up in the bathroom, and then the next thing I know I was waking up on the floor, I had passed out and hit my head on an exposed pipe on the floor. That was painful, but it was ok. I have probably passed out a dozen or so times in my life that I remember, maybe more, and they're all scary. I couldn't imagine having the more severe seizures that people talk about, and I only hope one day they find a cure for them, and can know why people have them and treat them so we don't have to hear about any more tragedies like this.
