Could you not contact say Facebook and let them know that you are interesting in writing code for your website that would allow Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc. users to personalize their sites? After getting a yeah or nay you would have a site where embedded code for different styles are setup for use on all social networks unlike it is now. I'm telling you people want it. As for Hugh's suggestion and you discussing the privacy issue.....as far as I know we have no privacy when using the internet and posting here or to a social network. I would have to reread Facebook's privacy page but I think it so much as states that. Even if you believe in privacy the person who is actually opening up a site on those things should understand that they are not private. Heck, I can see things about our kids all over the internet. Colleges, work places, etc. are looking at those items as we speak. Sherry
That may well be, but that doesn't mean I should be a part of it. The problem is with stupidity. People might stupidly post things on their MySpace page to impress friends, but others will use it against them without understanding or acknowledging the context.
This already occurs now - you would just be making it easier to gather this information - it is not illegal nor is it unethical. The world wide web is not one's private personal domain to show their *** and not be held accountable.
OK I better look to Kenny Rogers at this moment.:jester: Know when to fold them.:lol: I like playing with fire and all but the kind in my fire pit. :jester:
Cliff are there local community portal needs? For instance is there a North Carolina Bridal Portal? I am learning to find niches what is needed and I am finding a local need for several items here. Of course I live in a resort area. I also have learned a variety of CMS's and have started offering sites created with these to my clients and allowing them to update their own content. My competitors up here don't do that. I am gaining clients because they like doing their own updates without I PM'd you on an idea but it could be a big one, I don't have enough back end experience.
