If you are wondering what to do with raggedy (stained, worn, ripped, etc) clothes that cannot be sold - take them to Ron at Basic Needs. He recycles them and you can get a tax receipt.

I think this sale is good if you are expecting a baby. The baby clothes are awesome. My son has worn Kids Exchange clothing since he was born and he is now 7 years old. I do well with shirts, jackets and coats for him. Found London Fog ski bibs for him last year for $5.
Baby gear is pretty good too. I think even if you aren't a consignor who gets to shop early if you need baby stuff the selection is still good when the sale opens to the the public. Older girl's clothing always seems to have a big selection. (Just like any store, always more girl stuff than boy stuff.) Other stuff is super picked over from the volunteers who shop first. Toys are a waste of time. Tons of books but most of the time are thrown in piles on a table so you have to rummage.
My recomendation is get there early. During the public sale you can easily stand in line to check out for well over an hour. Maybe even two hours.
As far as selling, I think the sale has gotten too big. They have kind of become the Walmart of consignment sales. But you only have to consign 10 items to shop on volunteer day. Not bad. I usually do it.

You are welcome JOCO & KDC, but I can see why parents should be a little leary on their purchases

    Kids Exchange

I have participated in the Kids Exchange for the past few years. I have no complaints except for the length of time in line that you have to stand. It is worth it to me though since I love the variety and quality of the clothes I purchase there!

I have found winter clothes, jeans, etc. in the January sale...It is advertised as spring/summer but there are lots of winter clothes too!!

I also consign there every time and do very well!!

I have tagged my clothes and hung them already for this sale. I always offer people to come look before bringing them to the sale. Most of my items go when the volunteers shop. (I would think they would not buy ALL of them, but I look on Thursdays when I shop with consignors and my stuff is never there!!

If anyone is interested I have an ad in the classifieds or you can PM me from the board.

I have boys clothes ranging from 4 - 7 (mostly are 5 and 6 though!!)
