Thanks for following up... so was the guy legit, or do you know? He never mentioned portraits, needy families, or a fire engine. I am new in the area... in the past I have given to fire dept fund raisers, but I have always received a notice in the mail about it. Never have had someone going door-to-door... I always check up on those before I give.

probably legit. but that's ok, they'll send you one in the mail, everytime the photographer is in your area.

thanks for clearing it up. Had a guy come out this weekend collecting for the Cleveland Fire Department. Had the orange sticker they put on the mailboxes and such. He said he was hurt in an ATV accident just 3 days prior. I thought it great he was so dedicated to be out just after having such a horrific accident and broken jaw but now I'm wondering myself. Sad when you really can't trust folks anymore. A few bad apples.... I think it best if we all want to donate to our cause, to go directly to the police department, fire department, ems, etc. That way, we'll know they are getting the money directly and legitimately.

Thanks, me too, because I def. don't mind supporting our local firefighters and EMS workers. The firefighters I had the pleasure of dealing with were the best.
The young woman gave me a voucher and was told I would be called or mailed a time and date to come in for the portrait. That is how it was done when I lived near McGee's Xrds so it all seemed legit. Maybe it was, who knows? Maybe we just fell through the cracks and were not called.

they (summit productions goldsboro,nc)will mail you a post card with your seating time and date and if you wrote a check, it should have been made out to cleveland vfd or cleveland ff association, if it was written to any other name you need to put a stop payment on it we are extremely furious and imbarrised by the actions of this company and will never use them again, and will try to find another company to use in the future. if anyone has more questions, i will do my best to get you the correct answers,,,, J.D.

We took advantage of the free family portrait last year. It was a good experience. After losing all of our possessions in our recent house fire we had the gentleman from Cleveland F.D. show up @ our new address a couple of weeks ago and we are going to get another family portrait done. We need to have a new one, and the price of the donation is well worth it. Kudos to all the Cleveland Fire Dept for trying to save our old home. These guys do a fantastic job and put their lives on the line every time they go out on a call. I will always support them as long as it is legit.

Shame on people for trying to scam money like that. I just don't understand how people can be so ruthless.
