I have a screened porch I would like to "enclose". I want to do a 3 season porch or something similar. Has anyone done this before or have any ideas? Thanks!
In our last house we did an enclosure for the hottub using sliding glass doors and replacement sliding glass doors. They worked great and only needed a small connector between the units. The sliding doors had screens included and the replacement doors filled in where a sliding door would not fit making it a solid window. Not as expensive as many other methods may have been.
Last house we built, we had a huge sunroom , framed up to size for storm door glass and screens. Could change from glass to screens and vice versa very easily, but we always left the glass in. Used "waterproof" sheetrock on the ceiling, tiled the floors and used white vinyl siding on what little bit of exterior walls we had. Huge masonry fireplace made it a really great room in the winter. Put in a small wall mounted gas heater for when we didn't feel like building a fire on cold days. With all the glass, the sun did adequate job most of the time. You could probably get glass or plexi cut to fit your screened openings and do a relatively inexpensive conversion.
