I haven't couponed like I should in several months, but I will buy bulk of stuff I know we'll use. We will eventually use toothpaste, and it won't expire, so if I can buy 10 tubes for .25 each, I'll do it. Although I won't be as quick to buy the stuff I know we won't use.
I only clip the ones I know I will use but then I save the whole insert for a while in case a super deal comes up on a brand I don't normally buy but can use. Like I usually only us Crest but when they paid me 75c to take Colgate, I got it and am using it.
All month long I clip coupons for the things we already and things I may want to try, but I don't clip coupons for things I know we will not use. Organization tips  Save coupons all month long and keep a running shopping list of things you notice that are needed or "almost gone." 1st of month create your meal planner for the MONTH (average 20 - 23 meals). This leaves a couple days out for dinner outside the house or the fend for yourself nights. Create your shopping list based on your meals and your monthly shopping list. Yes folks, I only go to the store (Walmart & BJ's) once a month except to buy milk, bread and eggs. I keep fresh veggies in the Debbie Meyer bags all month long. If you do your meal planner right and buy meats in bulk you'll even have some for the next months planner, therefore decreasing your grocery bill. I have OCD!!!!!!:mrgreen::mrgreen: and I HATE TO SHOP. :?:? Going once a month saves me TONS of money since I'm not "seeing" all the goodies every week that are "on sale" ......... ok... MN out... muah!
We eat a LOT of chicken around here, so I stock up when it's on sale like it has been for the past few weeks. Right now, Perdue Fit & Easy boneless skinless chicken breast is on sale at LF for 2.00 a pound. Last week it was Sanderson Farms for $1.99. I have about 10 packs of it in the freezer right now. I refuse to pay $5 or $6 a lb for chicken when it's not on sale. Same with hamburger and roasts, ribs etc. When they go on sale, I buy multiple packs and stash them away. I have a Foodsaver vacuum thingy if I need to break down large bulk meat into meal sized packages. Last week my other big "score" was the Eletrasol tabs that were BOGO at LF, there had been a coupon for $2.25 off, so I got them for 38 cents a box.! Oh, and I got a sewing machine at Target last night that was originally $200 for $50. I am so excited. Now................does anyone need my old Kenmore? Works great!
Wow! Awesome deal on the sewing machine. I sent you a pm about your old one. I actually get way too many items for free or nearly free (except for my time used to make the clip the coupon & make the purchase) on a weekly basis. I donate alot to food pantries and homeless shelters. I also give tons of food & hba to friends & family. It is a hobby for me and I really enjoy it. It makes me happy to find good deals for others and teach them how to save.
GREAT tips, MN. Thanks! Can you tell me what the Debbie Meyer bags are and where you get them. I have a Ziplock air vacuum thingy that I haven't really had a chance to use yet.
The "green bags" help fruits and veggies stay fresher longer and yes they really do work! I got mine at Target instead of ordering them on line. https://www.greenbags.com/?cid=402572 I have the food saver that I use for meats that go in the freezer, which words wonders when you buy in bulk!!
OMG, are you my long lost sista? I over think things to the point where I can close my eyes and know exactly where everything is in every store we shop. Sherry
:hurray: Home from my trip to Lowe's Foods. Between the sales and my coupons I saved $61.87 and spent $64.14. I'm so proud of myself. I got a LOT of stuff for my money. I stocked up on the Perdue chicken breasts @ $2/lb. I'm ready to go again!
Whats stopping you... You all let me know if there are any Budweiser coupons out there floating around..
Seabee, this is MY ISSUE!!! Why no q-pons for beer? DAMNINT!!! :banghead::banghead: We can get liver cancer but tobacco - no *big deal*! There are plenty of q-pons for cigs but not for beer? I call BS!!! :boxing:
Ladies we need to have a monthly coupon swap. We could meet somewhere at 42 or 210 for about an hour on a Sunday afternoon and chat and swap coupons. Who would be up for it?
Do any of you buy any coupons from the coupon sites? I guess this is where I get really confused...Any help would be muchly appreciated.
I haven't and probably won't. I think I'm going to stick to the things I use or would use. I'm not gonna chase all over town to get something free that I won't use. I know I could donate it but I don't have a whole lot of free time so I'm just gonna do what I feel comfortable with.
