Where can I find out.....

    what the requirements are for the state to pave a road? It's a private road, with 4 homes on it, but MapQuest recognizes it as an actual road?? Which is odd. Anyone know how I could go about finding info on this?

    Yes, call DOT.

    The fact that Mapquest recognizes it as a road doesn't mean diddly.

    Mapquest "recognizes" the dirt path that cuts through our farm as a road, and it's 100% on private property and 100% dirt.......

    Depending on the length and amount of traffic, I wouldn't get my hopes up about getting it paved if there are only 4 homes on it. Not trying to be a pessimist, but as many projects as DOT has, they are spread pretty thin, and times is tough!!!
    But Good luck to you. it never hurts to ask.

    I don't know the answer but with it being a "private" road should it be paved by the NCDOT?
