I know that it has been on here before, but for some reason I can't seem to find it now. Can you guys give me suggestions on locations to hold a reception type event. Not sure of a head count yet, but at least 50-75 (I am guessing). Thanks
depends on the atmosphere you would like... Panthers Branch is very reasonable. Wagner House is more formal
I thought that lady from Panthers branch was rude. On the other hand it is a very nice looking place - maybe she will be nicer to you -plus very affordable American Legion on Clayton - northern end of town where the railroad crossed main street. - only $350 . nice room but painted baby blue and no windows. The Landing place is expensive and you must use their caterers. Johnston county farm building on 210 towards Smithfield - huge and very pretty but $800 There is a community center on RT 210 going toward angier from 50 - very affordable too Fairview community center on 1010 - $250-300. looks alot like Panther Branch only a bit bigger - a little further away VFW hall in RT 301 in Four oaks - great layout for a party but the building smell a bit musty. Good for spring and summer affairs. Gee - can you tell what I have been doing???LOL
I have called the lady from Panther Branch, waiting for her to call me back. The one on 210 out from Angier, is it a white building beside a Presbyterian church? Thank you for the information
I am not sure but I think yes. It is slightly up on a hill on the left as you are headed to angier. but it is not as far as the flashing light...it may be a regular light I do not recall. the panter Branch lady I think is a Mrs. Lassiter. She never called me back...untill well prodded by several others who knew me. Then just left a terse message that it was booked that day. My intended called too and got the same treatment - no return phone calls. ..but a mutual friend called with a great Johnston County drawl and was answered immediately. go figure.... Mind you, the lady that helps clean up the place - - I know for a fact it's not the same person - she was so wonderful and sweet. I stopped in to see it and she, along with the folks helping her, were very very nice.
Yeah, still waiting for the call. I will call and leave her another message. Hopefully she will call eventually. How far in advance did you call her, if you don't mind me asking?
the white cinder block building on 210 heading towards Angier is the 'Pleasant Grove Community Building' the number is 639-4061.
