Wear Red on Friday to support the thousands of women who have developed, who have died, and those of us who may in the future keel over from heart disease. It's like the breast cancer pink, only red. Considering it is the number one killler of women recently it may need some attention. So, as you are getting dressed in the morning...if you have a choice... pick the red one..... Only 1 day left – What are you wearing tomorrow? Hello Again! It's the third day in our countdown to National Wear Red Day. What better time to acknowledge the energy, passion and power we have to band together and wipe out heart disease? "Tomorrow, February 6, is National Wear Red Day. It's the day to wear your favorite red clothes or accessory — a red blouse, a red dress pin, a fabulous red handbag — put on red lipstick, or sport a red tie and red socks. Go red in your own fashion to show your support for women and the fight against heart disease. Through your support, we have made a significant impact around the issue of women and heart disease. In the last six years we have raised awareness of the fact that heart disease is the number one killer of women. However, our work is not done. There are still too many women who are not aware of this disease and the actions they can take to reduce their risk. Help us by sending this email to your friends and family and wearing red tomorrow – February 6. Macy's, a proud national sponsor of Go Red For Women, will help us celebrate with a special National Wear Red Day promotion. On Friday, Feb. 6, Macy's will offer all-day savings for customers wearing the signature color for women’s heart health – red. For those who forget their red, Macy's is offering a Go Red For Women Red Dress pin and all-day savings for those who make a $2 donation to the American Heart Association. All contributions received will benefit the Go Red For Women movement." THanks - Peppercorns
I have sene first hand that many doctors do not take a woman heart concerns in the same light as a mans. We have different symptoms then men when we have heart problems. i have been lucky thus far but too many women are not.
one of my co-workers is having issues with her heart right now.....she did the stress test, then the dye injection, now she has to have the balloon thing....she is nervous and scared. Heart Disease runs in her family.
Thanks Pepper, now i gotta change what i had planned to wear tomorrow:lol: j/k, it is for a great cause, unfortunately heart problems in women get so overlooked.
Thanks pepper for sharing the information. My 65 y/o aunt died from a combination of a heart attack and stroke. The doctors said she would have survived the heart attack but had a stroke brought on by it. She had just been to her doctor the day before. So I'll be wearing red tomorrow.
