Well, I feel bad for complaining about my dog's skin condition when the poor kitty above is having major surgery today. Thoughts and prayers for the kitty!

On another note, I am really irked that DS's teacher has not sent his report card home yet. I picked him up only 15 minutes early yesterday, and sent a note that I would be doing so, no report card. No report card today either. :banghead:

    I'm clueless

Why would Johnston County School district want a child's social security number.....are the kids getting paid

Seriously...is it required to have a social security number for school.

It's probably more for student id purposes - they start young! Plus don't most kids have one by then anyway, for tax purposes?

Yea but do you have to hand it over to them...I am kinda wary about it.

I guess you could refuse? But I guess thats the best way for them to keep track of them through the system. Would you rather have them micro-chipped, lol!!

I don't think I've given the school my kids' ss#. I could be wrong, don't really remember. But I usually don't give out my kids' number. And I remember hearing that the only time you ever HAVE to give your ss# to anyone is the IRS or another tax agency. So don't give it if you don't feel comfortable.

It is not required. You can say no and they will issue the child another ID number.

It is required for certain things. When I had to utilize the discount lunch program for a few years, it was required for that.

Random thought / question for the day

Why would anyone paint their house baby powder blue? it did match the color of their golf cart though
