We tried this new Deli in Clayton today. It is located at the intersection of US 70 and E. Main Street. You can call in orders at 550-6800. It is owned by the owners of Veneros. They use Boar's Head meats. Bagels are brought in daily from NY Bagel in Cary. The bagels were excellent. Just not a large selection. No onion bagels! All rolls and heroes are baked on premises daily. We thought it was very good. The only downside is there are no tables. It is all take out. We will go back!
I got a sandwich there over the weekend, it was huge! I told dh about it, and he went there at lunch one day, he like the sandwich he got too. They have a breakfast menu that looks pretty good! Like you said though, only downside is its all take-out only. Their pizza didn't look bad either...but Venero's has good pizza, so I would expect theirs to be good also.
I got a brochure and it is all take out. You can call in your order or fax it in also. It says the hours are Monday-Friday 5:30am-3:30pm and Sat.-Sun 7:00am-2:30pm. Phone #is 550-6800 and Fax is 550-6805
I just got from there and I am not overly impressed. I ordered a toasted bagel with cream cheese and got an untoasted bagel that was stale. (I even said to the cashier, "Toasted, right?" and she said yes...). The rest of my order was fine. I did take the bagel back and tell them (I believe in giving businesses a chance to "fix" an error.) They did rectify the situation, but unfortunately, the bagel tasted odd. I probably won't go back there for bagels (which I was SOOOOO looking forward to!), but I'd go back for an egg sandwich, if I'm in the area. Just my 2 cents.
Got a 18" cheese pizza there today. it was loooovely. seriously the best in the area. And the black & white cookies looked soooo good, but i'm *trying* to be on a diet! They have some chairs and small round tables out now. i dont know if they were there before, but i noticed everyone saying they had no where to sit.
