I just got home and read this on WRAL.com. I don't see where anyone posted this yet, which is quite surprising, thought for sure there would pages on this already...don't know how to post the article or I would.
Here's the link: http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/4514436/ That must have been awful for the bus driver to deal with, as well as the other children on the bus. That would be very traumatic not knowing at first if it was intentional or not, and if you were going to be next.
I found the article a little confusing, it sounded like the father was there when it happened? And didn't really understand if they knew who did it, how would you not know who did it? They did say there were only 8 kids on the bus at the time, so maybe they were in the back or something...Very, very scary, I couldn't even imagine. Those poor kids, the poor busdriver, the kids at that school, others on that bus route, everyone involved! I don't think I'd want my kids on that bus again after that!
It says they're questioning the boy who did it. I assume the father arrived after it happened - the parents would have been notified when the ambulance was called. The sheriff said the gun went off, it was an accident - but why did the kid have the gun on the school bus in the first place? Middle school kids!
they charged the father of the kid with the gun for leaving a gun lying around for a kid to pick up....he wasn't on the bus
That is what happens when you let a dumb *** have a gun and when you don't insill in your kids what is exceptable and what is not. He probably wanted to show his friends that he was a bad *** with a gun.
My heart dropped . It was enough to scare me with kids in Wake County that ride the bus. Thank God is was not our school. Close but not us! It's sad that parents aren't more responsible!
I just wonder what the family of the other boy is thinking/doing/saying. I can't begin to imagine how I would react if I got a call saying my son had been shot accidentally on the bus. Scares the poo outta me....coulda been anyone of our kids.....
WRAL said the boy with the gun, mom is a teacher at Knightdale High School...... So you know they knew the rules!
