I am so sick of AT&T calling and wanting me to upgrade their freaking service. They say nothing is going to change to your bill and then after they promise that they try to confirm your conversation and slip in the "by the way your bill will go up in 90 days!!!" Does anyone have any alternative phone company suggestions? They would have to be landlines, this is for a business and we have 3 lines including a fax.
all i can say is dont get embarq. takes them forever to do anything. and not very helpful.. at least in my experience. maybe vonage or verizon?
I would say TWC Digital phone if you already have them for cable. Price is not bad, though if you have an alarm system I would not get them. We have embarq phone and 10MB DSL and it great, never had any problems.
I switched over to TWC digital phone service a couple of years ago. I have been very happy with it and it was was half the cost of what I was paying to the phone company. Clear signal, no static. Only problem is, if the power is out, your phone is out, due to the digital phone modem has to have a power supply. This has never been a problem, however.
WHen you find out, let me know will ya! I have had the same problem with ATT at work, and I am the office manager, so I KNOW what questions to ask and stuff and still TODAY got a bill with some crap added to it. I was livid! I called and of course 'all agents are busy, please leave a msg' so I did. They finally call me several hours later (guess they were busy with errbody calling up and complainin!) anyway - she proceeds to tell me that I did authorize this service and they have it recorded. Ok, then let me hear it. So she does and sure nuff its me answering question yes/no questions, confirming business info and stuff. Then at then end of recording it goes into all this detail about how you won't be billed for 30 days etc, you'll get a postcard confirming you want this additional service and crap. SO when she comes back in the line - I tell her, you know I do remember this conversation, and I remember you telling me that you were with ATT and that you were just confirming that I was a customer and updating our records and stuff. AND I remember telling you at the beginning of the call that I was NOT interested in a web service etc and you assured me that this was not was this was...etc Cancel this service NOW and credit back this 29.95 to our acct. immediately - and she did, no problem...........justs pi$$es me off when they try to do that crap! :evil: And there have been tons of those types of calls since the beginning of the yr. :banghead:
