Tired of the Smoke at A-1 Video

A-1 video is really convenient for our video rentals, but I have decided that the smoke inside A-1 is just too much. I don't want my little girl to have to go in there and smell the smoke and today the smoke was so bad she was coughing from the smoke and complaining that the smoke was burning her eyes. The staff there smoke with the door open which is vacuumed back into the store. I just don't get it. I guess they just don't care if you shop there or not because I know I can't be the only one that has noticed this. The convience is just not worth smelling the smoke.
Does anyone have any ideas. Which is better Netflix or Blockbuster? I just wish that there was another video store at 40/42.

That's why I stopped going there....I just go to the blue ridge or pay per view on cable.

Wow still smokey in there? I haven't been in there in years.

I would rather find a video store that doesn't have cigarette smoking inside, and is close by. I don't have a problem with their prices, just that I don't want to deal with second hand smoke. I also feel the injustice that I am doing to my children's health by bringing them in there.

I stopped going there also because of the horrible smoke. Contact the dept. of Health and see what they have to say about it.

Yep, I also don't go there because of that anymore. It is a shame that's our only choice around here. But...you can now use the red box at Lowes Foods at 50/42, which is only $1/night. They have a pretty good selection, not as great as a whole store, but still pretty good. I would go with Netflix over Blockbuster though, if those are the two you're trying to choose from, just because of convenience and price. I don't care for Blockbuster much anymore, they are a rip-off if you ask me, it's almost $5 now to rent a movie!

Since I changed from digital cable to standard we can't buy movies over cable so we still rent them. I've never tried the red box movie rental, but I have heard about it. I may try that to see how that works for us. Right now the price of Netflix is more appealing to me if I had to choose between Netflix and Blockbuster. Maybe a video rental store will build with the new Wal-mart.

I went in there one time at least 5 years ago and never went back, for this very reason.

    YUCK!!

We use Netflicks - love it!
I don't have small kids, so we just use the 2 movies a month plan, works out great. 8)

How does this work? Do you just connect the computer to the tv?

We ordered a Netflix movie through the Xbox 360. Technology is amazing, LOL.

We use blockbuster. I really like the option of taking the mailed movie to the store and trading it in for a free movie. Doesn't matter if it is new release or older movie. If I mail it in Mon. we get the movie on Wed. and if you go to the store it is usually the next day.

I second the RedBox, plus you can reserve the movie you want online and pick it up in the store later, just swipe your card and your out :) No smoke smell, and no irritating store clerk and no late fees!!

I also went in there around 5-6 years ago and it was nasty. I can't believe the manager would want their store to be all smoky and so unappealing for customers.
