I saw the posting in the classified section earlier about scammers/free bulldog and thought I would post this. I have learned a few things about English Bulldogs in the last few hours (as we are looking for the owners of the two that wandered into our lives last night). Because we have received numerous calls from people "adopting" them, I decided to look into the reason why people are so interested in taking them off our hands. Apparently, an English Bulldog goes for the price of $1,200-$2,000. I thought - you got to be kidding me. I learned that pups should be delivered by C-section, which can make for a high price; another thing I learned is they should not be shipped as it is too stressful for them. So people, if you are interested in a Bull dog, do research before responding to the ad with the $200 shipping fee so you don't get scammed. After learning what I learned this a.m., I now know why we've had such an interest in people taking the dogs off our hands. If the owners do not claim the dogs, I will get back in touch with those interested. For all you dog lovers, please take comfort in the fact that we will not release these dogs to just anyone. There will be a process to ensure they go to a loving home where they can be appreciated (though there is a great chance, we will keep them as our son and his girlfriend have talked about buying an English Bulldog once they were through with college. Though the timing on that is off, they did wander into our lives for a reason).

Oh this makes me so sad and angry to read:cry: I have a 4 year old english bully that gets treated better than most humans all my friends say! They are truly a wonderful breed, BUT take major commitment and investment. We paid $1800(he is champion sired) for our bully from a reputable breeder and luckily it has saved us from spending another small fortune on health bills for all the health problems they can have. Ours just suffers from chronic ear infections:boxing: If you have any questions or need some help do not hesitate to PM me. We researched for about 6 months before purchasing ours. Our breeder's website has a TON of info at http://www.english-bulldogs-r-us.com that might help you. Thank you for doing the right thing when it comes to these loving dogs!

What a great site - this is where I got some of my research this a.m. I think my heart is about to be broken. One of the places I called this a.m. to see if anyone called to see if they had the dogs left me a message. Secretly, I am hoping that this person who is looking is not the owner of these dogs.

Awww, I am so sorry...maybe it won't be the owners:twisted: They are such loveable dogs and so easy to fall in love with-that's why I didn't even ask for pics or to "meet" them, though I would gladly help if you needed it!! We have talked about getting a second one for a long time and while I know we would love it, it would still be a lot of work and responsibility. If you do end up finding the real owners and are interested in buying an english bully I highly recommend our breeders and their website. They are responsible breeders, and it is a family of 2-3 siblings that advertise pups, which is why they have around 5 or 6 litters a year available. They truly care about the dogs and keep in touch. We called them every day for about 3 weeks it seems when we first got ours! And both vets who have cared for our dog say he's one of the healthiest english bullies they've seen, especially with the extended snout to prevent breathing problems. THey're the best!!

I'm bummed out - the owners have picked up their dogs. They actually thought someone stole them and were most grateful. My dog got so jealous and is out of sorts tonight. As I say, she's acting very shady.

I don't think my dog'll be nice to Pearl - she's just now starting to come around.
