So last week you guys know that I posted a thread about needing tires. I called 10 different places to get prices on tires, services, specials, rebates etc. I really do like to stay local and what I mean by local is the 4042 area. I'm all for making our “hood” more economically sound. After waaaay too many phone calls and research I found the tires at a place on highway 70 in Garner that gave me the best price, but still wanting to keep it “4042 local” and knowing Just Tires matches lower prices I decided to take my business to them. Yes, HG even after you told me you hated Just Tires, because I know one bad experience with a customer may not be the norm. On Friday I called to order the tires and make sure they would match the price, which they did (yay!!!). I also made an appointment for 8:30 am this morning since the tires would not get in until late last night. I also asked approximately how long the service would take so I could make my plans accordingly. So at 8:24 a.m. this morning I arrive to get new tires. I was promptly greeted by the manager, Josh, (who by the way ladies is quite the eye candy, plus +1:twisted and was told, "I will be with you in a minute." First impression …plus +2. Now I don’t know about you guys, but when I make an appointment I expect for that time to be reasonably honored. If it cannot be then I want to be told as such so I can arrange my schedule or even reschedule the appointment, if necessary. My truck was checked in (on the receipt) at 8:32 am. So I go about my way reading the paper, my Newsweek magazine and then texting friends to stave off boredom. At 9:10 I look in the parking lot and my truck still sits in the place I parked it. OK, so I start to get a little annoyed, but I tell myself breathe in, breathe out …. it’s only TIME. At 9:20 the truck is finally taken into the bay to be serviced. At 10:00 am it’s still not finished so I go up to the counter to which I am greeted with a gentleman who stays seated in his chair, with his elbows on his knees 6 feet away in what I guess is an office, :?“Can I help you,” he says. I felt like saying “well, yeah, first you can get off your ***, come up to the counter and act like you really give a hoot about the fact that I'm plunking down the better half of a $1,000 at your establishment.” :boxing: You guys would be so proud of me because I didn’t say this or even get irritated I simply ask, “how much longer do you think it will be?” He looks into the bay area and says, “shouldn’t be too long, they are putting your tires on now.” Patience is a virtue ….. so I stayed at the counter to make it known I was ready to go. I would occasionally looked into the bay area through the windows and to my surprise I noticed one of the technicians putting tires ON THE RIMS, not on the truck, which is what I thought was implied. :? At the same time I witness the same guy who told me “it wouldn’t be too long” talking to the technician who was trying to get my tires done. Then to my surprise I noticed a group of people in the bay just talking away. I assume they were employees, because they had service type shirts on and last I knew customers couldn’t frequent those areas due to safety concerns. Now, my truck is still not done and I'm STILL standing at the counter and another customer comes in to drop his car off for service and he asked, "about how long do you think it will take." He is told “well, I'm a little short-handed today so it will probably be longer than usual.” Could I not have been given that same courtesy? Was it because I'm a woman or because I'm in sweats, a ratty UNC sweatshirt and flip flops?? Everything was running through my head as I started to steam. :x I could have had a friend pick me up or rescheduled because I have to do this thing called work ….. MY TIME is valuable, not just in dollars & cents, but things I have to do for my kids, my husband, soccer, house… you name it!!! :banghead: MY TIME is my asset here lately. It really does go a long way these days when you are acknowledged and kept abreast of the situation or any problems. In summation, WONDERFUL customer service from the manager, Josh, as I dealt with him all throughout the “pricing wars” and he was nothing but patient and courteous. Even after I called him for a fourth time with better prices. :hurray: The guy who lacks in customer service, who I found out was the assistant manager, needs to go to a class or 2 or maybe three. They need to better themselves in time management and learn to keep the customer informed. If you want good prices (matching other places) and a HAWT guy to look at  8) Just Tires is a good place, but if you’re looking for outstanding customer service and for a place that stands by their appointment times you will be sadly disappointed. Thanks for entertaining my loooong post and HG, don’t tell me I told you so… you can kick me in the arse later. Smooches! MN PS - Kellbell – there’s another Chris Daughtrey look-a-like among us …. Dag I love my fine *** husband!!!!
At least you had some type of eye candy................last time I got knew tires, it was a bunch of big bellied crack peepers.......
I won't use them. They quoted DH some rediculous amount to patch a nail hole in a tire. Made me think they were a rip-off and I'm not going to give them a chance. Hope you have better luck!
Unfortunately the eye candy wasn't there for long .... so it was brief encounter with enjoyment at the place.
Red - I know who you're talkin 'bout - he is quite the dandy looking candy (tatoos and all) we've taken our cars there for several things and have never had a problem. And I have made appts - when I stayed, I didn't have to wait too long, but I usually make mine for late morning.
Dang, that sounds exactly last my last experience with them, i was livid - it took almost 4 hours to change 2 tires and when i went out to smoke a cig, the guys in the bay who were supposed to working on my car were all standing around fussing about something else - you were nicer than i was - i told them how ridiculous and unprofessional it was and have not been back since.
I have been going there for years and I have never had a problem with them. With that being said the last time I had tires put on they did take a little bit longer and they didn't call before they did a alignment on it. Josh took care of the whole thing and the alignment was on them. YAH for me. Just a note they will also match oil change prices as well.
I still say ---Support your Local Businessman. That in my eyes would be the little guy who will treat your time as valuable as his time to service you, and Just Tires does not meet this critiera, I have been there before and did not like the way that these people treat your property and then come back at you and tell you, you need more than what you came in for originally.
That's why I use Evans Tire in Smithfield for all my mechanical work and tires. Been going there 14 yrs and NEVER have had a problem.
Sounds like the same stuff I have to deal with at the glass shop I work at. I'll give you an example... You schedule an appoitment to have me come out and change your windshield, someone at corperate tells you I'll be there between 8 and 12 and that I'll call you that morning to narrow it down. My dispatcher gives me my work orders that morning and out of the 6 jobs (that's a full days worth), you're number 5 and the other 4 ahead of you are also 8-12. I call you and tell you I can't be there until around 3. Screws up your whole day. Now you want to scream at me even though you know it's not my fault, I'm just the tech and have nothing to do with scheduling. Because of stuff like this, I didn't get to me last job until 7 last night. Mike
