Can you share the name of the church that is organizing this project?

Not to hijack the thread - but just an FYI -

For the past 4 years - maybe longer - time flies. . .Emilie (formerly Buckaroo/now the Cleveland Post Office near Golden Corral) has had a US Troop Care Package bin. Any time you have a few sample sized items, or a new or gently used DVD or CDs, please consider stopping by the post office and dropping it in the bin (right up by the register) There is also a jar there - if you have any spare change, please toss it in - every little bit helps with postage. When there is enough to fill a large box, Emilie packs it up and mails it to US Troop Care - who have volunteers who sort and pack up and send out boxes full of individual care packages for our troops overseas. It's a continuing effort until all of our troops are home.

The list is about identical to that which FF posted. Here is more info about US Troop Care Package:

http://www.ustroopcarepackage.com on the site you can see lots of letters from troops who were so touched and grateful for the simple kindness of strangers.

    Thanks!

Looks like they will have another package to go shortly, but a reminder for folks, they no longer want magazines or newspapers.

Hught ~ thanks for dropping off your items. Sorry I did not get to meet you. I have been sick in bed for the past 2 days.

I think it is great that this other place has been doing things for out troops. These packages I posted about is really for a specific group.

No problem, I hope you get better soon.

Typically I bring my stuff up to Buckaroo or my church mentioned they will send them to a woman's shelter.

Just a little more information on these care packages....I talked to my friend and they will be sending packages out toward the end of March. These packages are going just to this particular group of people. From what she told me, this group in not close to a base and there are not any stores close by, so anything they can get is appreciated.

I got a little bit of extra money today and while I was out, DD and I went to Dollar Tree and bought a bunch of stuff there for these men and women and then picked up a board game and some Roman Noodles at Wal Mart.

I just thought I would pass some more information on to everyone. I can make a weekly run and meet people at 4042 if that is convienent or somewhere here in Clayton. Or if someone wants to just drop things by here, that would be fine also.

Those that have already donated, I was asked to extend heartfelt thanks to you for your donation.
