Okay, so I just need to vent and maybe ask for a little help. I work at school, and had to drive a bus this morning and afternoon. My DS brought an autographed hockey glove to school for show and tell, which I didn't know, but my husband said it would be okay. Well, when I picked him up from afterschool care, he says, "where's my hockey glove?" We look in his classroom, the afterschool care classroom, the cafeteria, etc. No hockey glove. Now, I don't want to assume things, but I'm guessing someone has taken this glove when they went home. As a parent, I would notice this and immediately send it back to school on Monday. But, no all parents are like me. So, my DS is heartbroken, and knows his dad will be very mad, DH is very mad, (just talked to him). If anyone by chance has a child in McGee's Crossroads Elementary afterschool care and sees a blue hockey glove, please let me know. This was given to DS by a friend of the family.

Have you talked to the teacher, is she aware that it is missing? If not, MAYBE she put it somewhere safe? I hope it turns up....:grouphug:

Thanks, I knew someone would be able to help somehow. My son is 7, but of course, the afterschool kids are all ages. The counselors are aware that it is missing, and we will look again on Monday, and check with parents and kids. It was after 6pm, so no kids were even there at the time. The heartbreaking this is, this glove was autographed by a man that played in the 1980 Olympics. It was a big year for USA Hockey, and it is a prized possession. It shouldn't have gone to school with a 7 yr old, or, as I have told him, I will take stuff like that and keep it in my possession. But, we also shouldn't have to worry about elementary kids stealing stuff.

Found the item today!!! One of my DS "friends" conveniently found the glove under the teachers desk this afternoon. Oh well, at least it is found.
