As some of you know, I will be going to Greenville, SC in 21 days. :hurray: Anyway, I have never been there before, and Mapquest says it's about 4 1/2 hours away. I was just curious how accurate this is, for those of you who have been before? I find mapquest is usually a little slow, so I'm thinking it will be closer to 4 hours?

which way is Mapquest taking you.... out to Charlotte and then south to Greenville, SC, or down 95 into SC and across west on 20 @ Florence to Greenville, SC?

I looked at it a while ago, but it seems like it was down towards Charlotte.

I'd like to go the fastest way possible, since it's a quick trip. I'll be leaving right after dropping off the kids at school, partying ALL NIGHT LONG, then we have to be back the next day by 2, since the kids have early release that day, which really stinks!

It will take you about 4.5 from Clayton. Depending on what time of day you are leaving, you may want to consider taking 64W to I-85 as opposed to 40/85. Particularly if you are going to be near Greensboro/Durham/Raleigh at rush hour.

I did a TripTik on AAA's website and it takes you via Charlotte also, says 280 miles and 4h.17minutes. Maybe its Columbia, SC that I'm thinking we went down 95 and across 20W.... oh well...

    good luck!

We'll be leaving 40/42 right at 9 am, and leaving Greenville, SC the next day right around the same time probably.

So it sounds like mapquest is probably right then, it will be close to the 4 1/2 hours? I didn't know if anyone on here has been there a few times and knew the driving time well. Just trying to plan my time out...thanks! (I was hoping I'd have some time to do some stalking, but guess I probably won't! I'm never going to be able to break up a happy marriage this way!!)

Moving there??? You don't stay in one place long do you??? I won't be checking out the sites, I'll just be in downtown, parking and walking to one building, and that's it!! But I'm looking forward to that more than anything else in a long time, maybe ever!!!

I am from Greenville, SC. I was just there this weekend. I was traveling with a 4 yr old and an 8 month old and it took us about 5 hours so I would plan on 4 1/2 since you are traveling alone. I always go I-95 south to 20 towards Columbia to 26 towards Spartanburg to 385 which is a straight shot into downtown. This way it is all interstate and speeds are mostly 70. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.

Girl, you know I don't drink, but if you came to get me, I'd definitely buy you a beer (or two!). I'm gonna try to let my hair down, if I don't make a complete idiot of myself first!! It's not too often I get out of the house, let alone the town of Garner, without my kids, so I plan on having lots of fun int he 28 hours I'll be gone!!! I'm sure y'all will hear all about it when I get back, whether you want to or not!! 20 more days...O...M...G...!!! I wish I knew how to add a photo on here.

YUMMY! I am meeting him face to face in 20 days, on my birthday, and am hoping to get a birthday kiss from him, if I don't vomit all over myself first. Good lord, I am breaking out in a sweat right now just thinking about him...I literally start giggling everytime my husband speaks his name, he thinks it's hysterical. I have seriously never had any other celebrity crush ever in my adult life. My husband is really enjoying this time, seeing me turn into a 14 year old all over again! He just does something to me...:oops:
