    KDC,

How much cream and how much salt did you use?

That looks really good, you domestic goddess you!!

    Domestic Goddes, LOL.

I just dumped in the whole carton of cream. I actually did two of them last night, two separate batches. Whatever the tall carton is, not the short one, LOL. As far as the salt, I just sprinkled a little on there, I didn't measure it.

You have to rinse the buttermilk out once the butter separates, you do that under running water and kind of knead the butter til the water runs clear, then you keep kneading it till all the water comes out. If you don't get the buttermilk out, it will "turn" your butter rancid quick.

I found a youtube video last night on it too.

Not something I plan on doing often, but nice to know I can! It was a learning experience for DS if nothing else.

Got the mixer several years ago for Mother's day. It was a re-furb but works great!

The breakmaker is coming out this afternoon! :jester:

My mom bought us a Kitchen-Aid mixer several years ago for Christmas and I love it! It is the best stand mixer for the money. My mom still has her first one, and hers is atleast 30 years old. I will say hers is posessed, one must be very careful to actually unplug it when your done mixing, because it will turn itself back on. But I know she bought that mixer back sometime back in the '70's for making Italian cookie dough, its that great olive green color!!
