Hey 4042's I know how big of a heart everyone in the 4042 family has . I have something I cannot seem to get .That is help for a dog. I have seen this poor old golden retreiver standing in all kinds of weather hanging his head, because he does have a very small igloo dog house to attempt to get into but he cannot. He has muscle tremors and arthritis so bad he cannot bend his hips. Yes I have called the humane society people, animal control, JC Sheriff about this. So as of this moment tonight after cold rain all day he stands on a pieace of concrete with his head hanging with no shelter. I have prayed for a miracle all day for him. Death is better for him than what he is going thru tonight. I left a message at animal control tonight begging for help for him. Everyone please pray for this poor dog. Even a plastic tarp is better than nothing. They do not care. The owner has a garage and warm home but will not bring this poor dog into even the garage. I have asked if I could have the dog and of course no was the response. The owner has posted no trespassing signs on their property so I cannot even offer a blanket or anything to help this poor dog. HELP. What do I do? I am pacing back and forth and looking out the window and seeing this weather and worry because he is in a pen and he cannot help himself. I am trying to keep it together tonight from not loosing my mind with worry and feel so helpless to do anything. I know we all have different standards. I know even not going into a home is out of the question to some but I know they have dog houses with pinestraw and a light bulb to provide heat for the animals people own. I have talked to this person about doing something . I will not repeat what they said but it was not nice. I guess I should mind my own buisness and I know I will get some ugly responses from others here . I will take them, but I have a heart and know I am this dog's only hope at this time to help him. What do I do? PLEASE 4042's family what do I do? I sense this person is a very mean person and will do anythingto get back at someone, that would point them out in the community so I do not refer to location or man or woman here because I am fearful of them. Please help me help this poor dog.

wait for the owners to go to sleep tonight and carry a blanket or possibly an extra doghouse over there. noone would know but you that it was you. if it were me, i might just take the dog and put him in my house till morning, lie and say that he got out. maybe it's just me, but i feel the same as you do and i would go to EXTREMES to help out the dog....especially since noone else seems to care. I pray the dog bites his owner tomorrow. LOL! (or not if the owner is really mean...no telling what he'd do.) those are my ideas. i don't see where the law could prosecute you for doing what's right. am I wrong Wayne?

Dog standing out in the snow with no shelter

He is inside a kennell with 4 walls to tall for me to reach over. He is not chained but he is keep in a very small area. The owner has a padlock on the gate to open the pen. I would sneak over but I am handicapped and I will fall trying to walk without being noticed. I cannot even sleep at this point. I just get up and look out my windows. And wonder how he is doing. Not well I am sure.

    I called the non-emergency #

They said if the dog did not bite someone and or was loose they have no concern about it. It is the humane society and the animal control problem. The animal control called the humane department on them last week. I hear the dog was on his last leg and owner was told to build a cover over the pen. Which he did not do yet. I am sure they have a turn around of 30 days which will not get help for the dog right now. I just wish the poor thing would die , he did nothing but fall into the hands of this monster as far as I am concern. I wish there was an JC Sherrif on duty tonight that would pull up to the drive way and see the shape the dog was in and make the person feel really bad for what they are doing to this poor dog.

this makes me very sad! i hate to see dogs locked up and not taken care of or played with! no one should have a pet of any kind if they are not going to love it!!!! what is the point in having one?

If this one does die, obviously the owners don't care about him, I'm sure they'd just get another one. :boxing:

Do you need MY help today?

I called the cops on my neighbors about 4 years ago for something similar and they at least asked the animal owners to show some common decency.

Granted they got ****ed at me later for calling but I didn't give a damn.

I've since moved and I believe they have too.

Dog with no way to get out of the weather update

I just heard from the either animal control or the humane society. I am not sure which one called. I was told it is not law in JC to have a roof or coverage over an animal here. And if even a tiny little dog house was inside the pen that he could not crawl into by himself, because of his crippling of the hips that they could not do a thing. I am at lost. I can honestly say either I got dropped in the call or he hung up on me. He seemed not to pleased with my call. I guess I am just someone who has a heart is bigger than the law and this dog will suffer at the hands of their owner and I cannot do a darn thing. I know he will die in time. But till then he suffers. I know as he stands there shivering and wet, cold that no one person on this whole earth can control what he has to go thru except the humane and animal control. It is up to them.
I am now an annoying caller to them. Just pray for this dog. The person who offered the dog house I would come and get it put it in his pen but the owner put up no trespassing signs recently. I will get in trouble and they would push the point with the sheriff over me doing anything in their yard. I appreciate it for this poor dog. I guess just praying for the poor thing is all we can do and have hope. I fear these people they are very mean.

Just remember that God don't like ugly. These people who neglect their pet will someday meet their maker. and then they will need to repent for the brutal treatment.

if we were in new york you could call aspca and they would make you give him a shelter or fine or jail time, why isnt it the law here? i put on craigslist to give away a dog house and someone took it for a dog with no shelter but there were no no trespassing signs.why do people even have a dog if they put it in a cage?why dont they just get a concrete one instead? i hate people like that but then again our lives are centered around our cats.:iagree:

Did you talk to someone in CLAYTON or the Johnston County Animal Control??

THEY HAVE to have a ROOF over the dog!!!

Call Ernie (johnston county animal shelter) 934-8474 tell him Harleygirl sent you!!

If you are in the *town* of Clayton, their rules HAVE to be the same as the *county* rules!

At the very least you may be able to heat up some warm food and bring it to the dog, when there is no one at home you could give it to the dog. I know that this is not the focus of this thread but it couldn't hurt to try.

I've had the same problem with animal control. They act like I'm the bad one when I call. i watched my neighbors dog die because he was tied up in the heat with no access to water or food. i would give him water but it always ended up out of his reach. I now have another neighbor that has a dog chained in the middle of the yard with no shade or shelter and another neighbor that has a dog in a pen with weeds taller than the dog and he is never let out. Its frustrating that nothing will be done.
