I'm debating sending my kids to school. My husband says the temp seems to be dropping, and any accumulation on his truck (he's at work) is turning to ice as we speak. I just walked to my road, and my driveway and road is icy. We're worried about not only the roads now, but how they will be at 4:00 when the kids are riding home, if the temps keep dropping. Just curious how the roads are for people who have been out driving this morning, and what people are doing with their kids today? I'm not too crazy about driving on icy roads, or my kids riding on a bus on icy roads.
If I had it to do over I would keep my child home today. Took over an hour for a normal 15 minute drive and they had to go around at least on downed tree on 40 East. Not worth it to me. Sherry
Well it's snowing right now outside and it's not the stuff that is coming off the trees. Either way my DD isn't going to school, this is the first day she has missed. She isn't feeling well and I knew something was up when she passed out on the couch at 8pm last night. Gave meds and she is sleeping now. Sheri
I live off of Sanders and had no problems at all. DS is at daycare and will be going to school today. 40 was fine. I may leave a little early today to pick him up, but it'll be around 4 instead of 5. K
I'm keeping mine home today. I might be worried for nothing, but I don't care. It's not worth it to me, I don't need to be hearing of any bus accidents this afternoon and worried whether or not it's my kids'. Sheri - I hope your kid feels better. We had the worst stomach virus go through our house last week, it hit all 5 of us, starting Wednesday and ending yesterday. 2 of my kids had it twice, I actually passed out from it, still have the bump on the head to prove it, not a good thing at all!
No stomach virus here, just headache and running nose thing. Knock on wood. I'm glad you guys are doing better, that is one thing I can't stand is to have a stomach virus, been two years and would like to keep it that way. Sheri
No problems from Clayton to RTP. 70 and 40 were both fine. I just wish the people that do not have a garage would clean off there cars a bit more so snow not blowing on my car on 40 because they are lazy :banghead:
I just took mine in... a little half frozen slush on the road and the bridge is nice and icy, but I live on a dead end road, 42 (on the Clayton end) is clear... wonder if there will be a delay tomorrow? ... ain't it all so purdy!
