This may be old news, but the stores going to the new WalMart center will be:

    Dollar Tree
    King Chinese Buffett
    Shoe Show
    GameStop
    Sprint Wireless
    H&R Block

So it will basically look like a million other WalMart shopping centers. So much for 4042 getting something it can use.

Just what we need, another strip mall Chinese restaurant, of course the same could be said for Wallyworld.

How many fricking chinese places does one intersection need? Well, I'm very excited about the dollar store, I've been waiting for one since the planning of the Lowes Foods plaza! The other places I can do without, but I will be a frequent shopper of Wallyworld and Dollar Tree!

Especially when none of them are any good! I have yet to find a decent chinese restaurant in or around Clayton. I'd be there 3 times a week if I could find a good one whose food wasn't either gross or completely lacking in flavor.

DMJ, I am with you on the Dollar Tree! I hope it is as good as the one in Clayton, they have great workbooks and odds & ends!

Yes, the Clayton Dollar Tree is awesome! I used to love the Garner one by LF, but Clayton has that one beat!

Amen.. Preach it KDC... I would trade them all for one that is relatively decent.

We complain because we can.. We are Americans and Freedom of Speech is what separates us from the rest of the world. (I'm not saying that Freedom of Speech is always a good thing but we can if we want to) :p

Why are you even here? To harass us with another lame, no-point post? And you argued that you didn't post to every thread. Could have fooled me. Take some immodium, it should stop the leaking.

Discuss it if you want to. I think a number of us have voiced our displeasure about the WalMart in an intellectual way on a number of occassions. In this case, we are displeased with the particular stores these centers attract as they add very little to the community.

The only positive to this center so far will be that is seems as though it is being built so you can't see much of it from 42. However, they will probably erect a sky-scraper sign so you can see all the way from I-40.

There is a Japanese place at the Food lion Center at 40/42 (not Jumbo China) that i think is really good. IMHO

Well, I guess I'm alone in saying this but I'm HAPPY to see another WallyWorld. I buy meats and produce at a local grocer but everything else at Wal Mart. I don't like trecking to Clayton and I've given the "new and improved" Wal Mart in Garner every chance and am sorry to see it's the same old class of people in there. I think The Dollar Tree is the best of the dollar-type stores and my kids are excited about Game Stop. I sure don't know what they'll do with all the increased traffic in that area - it's bad enough as it is. Have a good day everyone!!!!

Nope, you're not the only one! I thought I was the only one happy to have a Walmart coming to 40/42...Maybe we'll be the only 2 at the Grand Opening!? I know traffic is/will be a problem, but I won't be adding to that, as I already travel these roads anyway. And it will save me from a trip to Clayton, so now I never will be driving more than 5 miles from my house, I'll really become a hermit! (I am going into Raleigh tonight, that's a big deal for me these days!)
