Actually, I was refering to the hand sanitizer comment, LOL. I'll leave the moral highground to folks better equiped to stand there than I apparently am. I shop for as little as I can there, but my budget doesn't allow me to pay 2 or 3 times the price at places like Whole Foods. I shop Lowe's Foods for the most part, but if it ain't on sale there, Walmart will have to do. I will shop with the unwashed masses if necessary. 8)
I can't wait for a closer WalMart. It is where I do my grocery shopping, because groceries are cheaper there than elsewhere, unless I have a coupon to double. Also, the cheapest place to buy my husband's work jeans that will be ruined in a few months. And I love the dollar loaves of bread at the Dollar Store. I can't afford to pay more, and if I could, why would I? And I shower twice a day, thank you. And I also chose carefully what WalMart I shop at. The stores in Clayton and Dunn are my favorites. Smithfield is my least favorite, Garner a close second. A closer one would save me gas and time, again I can't wait!
We use Whole Foods for a gluten free diet for our DD. As more and more stores add to their GF offerings, perhaps we will expand our shopping. I will say that WM has expanded their GF foods moreso than Lowes Foods or Food Lion. Kroger is better than Lowes Foods. The aisles at Lowes Foods may contain GF items, but they are interspersed with no GF items, and we don't have the luxury of time to hunt them down. FL has practically no GF foods. And neither Lowes nor FL has expressed more than lip service when we ask about GF areas.
Why do you say that blus? There is a chik fil a at the shopping center by Kroger on 70 and then again at White Oak, they are actually closer in distance aren't they? Just don't want my hopes dashed:jester:
I am also very excited to have the new Walmart coming to 40/42! Are they going to have the gas pumps like the one in Clayton-they always have cheaper gas and I am all about getting some cheap gas! I just wish a Bath & Body Works would come into the shopping strip...... The traffic increase is going to be a real PITA, but I guess that is the trade off for more convenience and hopefully they will do something to make the traffic flow better around it.
I'll also be shopping at Walmart and Dollar Tree. That is, if it doesn't take me too long to drive 1.5 miles to the entrance considering most traffic will be bottle-necked into a 2-lane highway. I can't help but wonder if it will be quicker to drive to the one on 70 in Clayton. I'm hoping the stimulus package will push through the much-needed extension of highway 42 into 4 lanes!
Does anyone know when these are all supposed to open? And I'm assuming there will be some sort of stand alone restaurant as well? A steakhouse of some kind or Italian place would be nice.
When I had my store over behind the Golden Corral, the landlord told me they were in negotiations with Chik-Fil-A. It was a bold faced lie. Territory restrictions prohibit one being this close to the other two. Sorry. I would want one here, as well. Love their chicken strips.
Italian is my vote but with the one down on 42 at the Lowes Foods, it is very unlikely. If so, it would be one of those nasty chains like Ragazzi's.:ack:
man, there is a lot of wannabee high falooting people in here hating on walmart. You can go ahead and blow away your money at the local food lion or lowes food where you could have save a ton more getting the same product at wallyworld. I too hate the ignorant people and unhappy people at walmart, but prefer to save as much money as i can. Anyway, enough of this. I hoping they bring a applebees or a lonestar restaurant over here. We need a good steakplace around here
Could we get a Books a Million (borders, barnes and nobles), and some kind of music store that doesn't pander to hip hop and the crap that plays every 87mins on the radio.
I would have to agree, I like to save as much money as I can as well. Do I like going to walmart, not one bit, but I also don't like going to lowes food, and paying so much extra. I bought a bag of Oreos a few weeks ago at walmart it was like 2.98. Went to lowes a few days ago and it was around 4.15. Why such a markup? So where do you think I am going to go shop? We never by meat from walmart, but everything else we do. If I can save a few bucks and enjoy my money on something else then great.
