This is a service provided by a local farm - they provide you with fresh veggies for a flat charge per week. Picked up a flyer about this yesterday - has anybody here participated before?
I am a little hesitant to do that - will I get bashed for advertising a business? I don't want to cause any problems for them! (even tho I am in NO way associated with this farm or anyone who runs it) If you want more info, PM me and I'll give you the details - or you can stop by Body Creations and pick up a flyer.
girl its no different than us al talking about the Pandora/Chamilia bracelets and who is having the sale and trunk shows.... spill it. just say it like this....I got a flyer from ____________ saying they would deliver produce weekly. Anybody else ever heard of this?:mrgreen::mrgreen:

OKay - OKAY!!!! They're called Doorstep Market and they will deliver to a local location (could be a neighborhood or whatever) the one for this flyer is Body Creations. There are 2 different sizes of boxes: prices are $21 and $28, you can cancel at any time (as long as you give proper notice) There's alot more details - so go get a flyer! Sounds like an excellent deal - I'm gonna give a try!
Here's the website: http://www.smiths-nursery.com/Doorstep Market - Index.htm There are many farms in the area that do this, by the way, although this is the only one that charges weekly. Typically you purchase your share (or half-share) for the whole season. They have many pick-up locations, so you can usually find a convenient one. Also, what I really like about this is that you have a really good idea, in advance, of what you're going to get in your box. I can't find a schedule for the doorstep place. This is my favorite, as they produce all organic. Unfortunately their CSA is full for 2009, but you might want to keep them in mind for next year if you prefer locally grown organic produce. http://www.double-t-farm.com/
I picked up my box today from Smiths doorstep.... Loved it. I want to get enough Clayton people interested so we can get a pick up point out this way! Anyone?
Lets see i got a nice eco bag with 5 sweet potatoes, a quart size zippy of shelled pecans, 2 lb 13 oz jar of honey, 2 BIG bundles of asparagus, a 'pint' of squash and a 'pint' of large tomatoes.... and a Big plastic (like maybe 2 pints worth) of strawberries.... (By 'pint' I mean one of those small green bucket things they sell them in!) This was the double.
Cool! I'm so excited to get mine tonight! I ordered the single - so hopefully will be enough for the 3 of us (1 prob won't eat the veggies anyway). I need some suggestions on how to cook asparagus - anybody got some?
Drizzle some evoo over the aspagagus along with some salt and pepper and garlic... then grill! Yummy! Or, you can put them on the stove in a covered pan with evoo and use same spices and cook on med low for 15 mins or so...
