WATCH VIDEO Two people shot near Clayton "I heard something go 'pop, pop, pop,' and I thought someone is shooting the house with a paintball gun and then I thought, no it didn't hit the house," witness Dorothy Durham said. "It sounded too loud." "There was a guy in the ditch, face down, (and) he had some drugs in one hand and a big gun in another one. He was still breathing," witness Amy Jones said. Paramedics took one victim, found in a ditch, by ambulance to WakeMed. Another witness said the victim was thrown from a blue sedan into the ditch. The other victim drove himself to a hospital, police said. Following the shooting, authorities said they chased a car to Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield. Does this mean that the "victim" who drove himself to the hospital was chased by police???? Lots of crazy happenings out there these days. Thank God no children got hurt, this could have been much worse if it had been a sunny warm day today and there were any children in the area where this took place.
I had just passed this place coming home from my mom and dad's I mean with in minutes of the shootings, such a scary thing for the people that live there.
My husband was at work at his second job at Food Lion and come home and told me about it. He said they heard a lot of commotion going on that way. We use to live on Boling Street right there on the corner of Boling and Cardinal. Kind of scarey thinking it was just down the road from there and if we were still living there, I would have freaked out.
I'm a little foggy on the details. Did they just want to have a gun fight in the car. First rule of gun fights do not have them in enclosed places. That is where the 20 paces rule comes into effect. Second, if you've been shot and pushed out of a car get rid of the drugs.
a couple of no good thugs apparently.. to bad they both didn't do us all a favor and take each other out...
If it had happened in front of my house not sure that either would have made it to the hospital......alive anyway. Craig
