Good luck today ladies. I'm still recovering from gallbladder surgery... and I have to go sit in a workshop at work in an attempt to save myself from the financial nightmare I'm in. Having major surgery and no sick days is never a good thing. Hope you all see that scale say good things. I'll be back next week
Hope that your recovery is a quick one sweetie! I lost another pound this week, and running fast so it doesn't find me again. I miss seeing all you girls!
OK...so you may have gained one. Chalk it up to only that. And don't get into blaming or a negative feedback loop. It's about weight and your health, not your personal validation. We all miss a step, now and then. We all do things we really shouldn't. Live in the TODAY. And resolve your self to doing what you knew you should have. Just for Today. We're pulling for ya! 8)
You know, you come to a point in your life where you say, enough is enough. I could write a book about dieting, and the ins and outs, and what works and what doesn't and long term and short term effects. I am heavier than I've ever been. It's affecting my health and my wellbeing. So I either say I'm gonna "try" to lose weight, or I just do it. I ordered my weight watchers books (because they've been updated since the last time I was in WW) and as soon as they get here, I'm going to take this weight off. I'm not going to try, I'm not going to give it my best shot. I'm just going to follow the plan and lose weight. Plain and simple. I don't share this to get an "atta-girl" or a pat on the back, I'm just sharing because I *know* there are other people on this board, reading, and maybe not saying much, who are at the same place I am. So to those, just get off your duffs, put down the cream puffs, and do it.
That's why you should have gone. Once you endure the scale ... you have a fresh start for the new week. Why not go to another meeting in the next day or so and give yourself that fresh start! There is a meeting tonight in Clayton @ 6:00 ... one at Holland at 7:00. There are probably several others between now and Wed.
Jennifer - you have the right attitude. Everyone I've know who says they are going to *try* WW has not made it through the long haul. You've got to just DO IT. Being healthy has to become more important than food. Now we need to get the word *diet* out of your vocabulary. It's all about balance and moderation.
Reminds me of the wisdom a church lady told me once, after I had guest ministered at an AME Zion church. I asked her how her week had gone, and she replied, when I have a bad week, I need this church...and when I've had a good week, this church needs me.
Jen and extended family/friends... There is a world of difference between involvement and commitment. When you get committed to your success, and refuse to allow anything to stop the progress towards achieving..you achieve. No one should ever think it's easy. It's easiest to quit, or continue down the path of no resistance. Change requires resistance...and long term chage requires commitment. Good Luck in reaching your goal....What you believe, you can act on and achieve!
Wow! Glad I read this thread this morning. You guys have pumped me back up and I have a new attitude. Thanks to all and good luck Jenn! :hurray: I'm ready to do this thing.

Can somebody post the point calculator thingy with the flex plan? I know you're supposed to get 35 flex points per week, but I'm talking about how to calculate how many points you're supposed to eat per day...
