Hey, all. I am heading up a Relay for Life team this year in memory of my mom called "Lucille's Kids". I have always given to Relay but never had a team before! As many of you know, my mom died of cancer August of 08. She had renal cell carsinoma 12 years prior and beat it. She was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in March 08. Anyway, I am setting up a bake sale booth at the yard sale my family is doing this tomorrow. I will have fresh baked goodies as well as drinks for sale. ALL money made from the bake sale will go to Relay for Life under our team. We will be putting yard sale signs up this evening. It is on Tammy Drive in Southwoods subdivision off of Cornwallis. Also, my portion of whatever money is made at the yard sale itself will be donated to Relay as well. Thanks for your help and support!
My bake Sale was a huge success...I raised over $100!! With the proceeds donated from the yard sale, we donated over $500!!! :hurray: My heart was warmed by the kindness of strangers. There were so many things that happened that just made me smile!! Thanks to any of you who came out!
I seen a purple toilet out in some one's yard. It said "Relay for Life Purple Toilet" What does that mean??
That's part of a fund-raiser they do every year. You can pay a certain amount of money to have that placed in someone's yard, and then they have to pay a certain amount to get it removed. Pretty funny, but you'd better make sure the person has a sense of humor before you send it to them! :jester: By the way, here's a link to my page, for anyone who's interested in donating.
