gotta get a new gas grill, the old one has seen it's better days and thinking stainless steel, any recommendations, good prices, etc.?
Everytime I buy a gas grill I find something I would look for differently in the next one. Having bought a big stainless Coleman last time, it has double sides or grilling and a deep fryer/steamer on the side and a rotisserie. I think I've wished more times than naught that I'd had the side burner instead of the deep fryer/steamer. I'd also get one with an actual temp. gauge on the outside of the lid so I could have better temp control to do some smoking with it. I'm not due another one for another few years probably, we got new burners to put in this one this year.
cause DH likes the gas and the only time i don't have to cook is when he cooks out so what he likes to encourage more cooking out is all good with me:lol:
I bought DH a JennAir from Lowes two Christmas's ago. He and I both love to cook on it. It's a 4 burner with and side burner. Money well spent.
>I would get a name brand grill. It's easier to find replacement parts. I got a BBQTek grill from Lowe's for a wedding present almost five years ago. The burners and vaporizers went last summer. The replacement burners were $90 from the manufacturer. The grill only cost $210. I was lucky and found them cheaper at Wal-Mart in stock after a lot of frustration. Half the time when its something I really need, Wal-Mart doesn't have it in stock. The side burner knob went after only a few months. I use my grill a lot and you can make a quick meal. I'm going to have to replace mine soon, the inside is almost all rusted out. >I would also get one that you can add lava rocks to. It helps w/ the flavor.
Kaci, Kaci, Kaci....................you must purchase a Big Green Egg! It's almost as easy as gas, I'm telling you! Last grill you will every buy. I did those wings all by myself! :jester: Pour in lump charcoal (not briquettes), stick an electric firestarter in there, and about 20 minutes later, you are good to go!
yeah i heard about the infared but was told by the owners they just do not like it as much, it takes away the grill flavor
Before you buy one, then I must have you both over so he can try the food, it'll change his mind.............it did mine. 8)
Sounds good if he is in town, thanks. But then again, didn't you tell me those eggs were really expensive?
Yeah .. but, it is cast iron and should last forever! Think about how much you pay for a grill and how long it will last? I do think if you can learn to cook on it, its a good investment and will pay for itself over the years. I'd seriously consider one if I could find one used and reasonably priced. I've actually looked at the Green Egg website. KDC is just evil, hooks people in with those darn wings of hers... she could be a salesperson for them!!!
