I eat at a lot of fast food joints around the country with varying degrees of success, as stated earlier McDonald's typically gets it right and locally I can't remember ever getting a screwed up order from Bojangles up at 4042 (but then only Anglo Saxons work there).

Careful, lest we get accused of being arrogant.

I noted the errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, among others. My first thought was that for someone complaining about poor communication skills, he exhibits the same quite well.

But, then again, I'm arrogant. Ask around.

OMG that is the exact same thing that happened to DH and I about 8 yrs ago - we were packing, it was our last night living in Raleigh and we went to Hardees on New Bern - we went through the drive through - not looking too presentable from packing all day and we had to give it at least a dozen times - and it was simple like an 8 piece bucket, two orders of fries and two cokes. At first I was irritated - having to keep repeating, then waiting to hear the guy repeat it back incorrectly, then annunciate (sp?) it - sounding like you were in slo-mo  I ended up laughing till I cried, and when we finally pulled up to the window, with tears streaming as I handed over the $, I actually said what DH and I had determined - I said to the guy, "OK, where's the freaking camera?" and he just looked at me like he had no Earthly idea what a "camera" could have to do with anything. . .which made me laugh even harder. Funny thing was, although we were sitting on a line where we were first and everyone began pulling out of line behind us for a good 10-12 minutes. . .maybe longer, I wasn't mad - it was the best laugh I had all day. DH and I were just talking about it the other night. He remembered it vividly too

We went to Triangle Town Center yesterday and my son ordered from the food court. She was asking so many questions I just started saying yes to everything. Found out he got an employee discount, that must have been one of the questions. And he is only 12.

My wife keeps getting calls from an overseas call center about a credit card. It is a 'courtesy call' about some aspect, but she cannot understand them. They called while I was at home this weekeend but would not speak to me because it is a card I set up in her name and they can only speak with the primary card holder. I had to hang up on them at that point.

Point of note for those of you spouses who do not have a credit history of your own. You really need to build one separate from your spouse because if something happens the impact will not be a critical. It does come in handy at times especially if there are any personal guarantees for debts such as for a business. One spouse may be able to remain outside of that connection at times.

Since DH and I have some separate credit, and I pay all of the bills from our joint account, what we did was call the accounts that we have separately and give permission for each other to have access to information on these accounts - this enables me to (for example) call the bank that holds the car loan to ask a question, or whatever without having to have them speak to him during the call and vice versa. It just makes things simpler, and it keeps credit separate, so we can both maintain individual status, just in case anything were to happen to one of us.

What does make me crazy with some of the outsourcing - especially where credit is concerned is when you call to make an inquiry - such as when an interest deferment deal will expire - and the person answers your question and then tries to sell you an additional service (like an insurance policy of sorts that will pay your bill should you be disabled or laid off) and you decline and then they go through your objections off their script, and you still decline, FIRMLY - only to see on your next bill they've started you on the plan. I have spent way too much time on 'hold' undoing with arguments what some of these outsourced operators have done to make their quota. I've actually threatened to close accounts when this happens and that seems to do the trick.

Be careful and check EVERY statement!

I have to laugh at your spelling. Was that intentional, or have you not mastered the English language yet?

    Just wondering.

On Tuesday, State Rep. Betty Brown (R-Texas) caused a firestorm during House testimony on voter identification legislation when she said that Asian-Americans should change their names because they’re too hard to pronounce:

“Rather than everyone here having to learn Chinese — I understand it’s a rather difficult language — do you think that it would behoove you and your citizens to adopt a name that we could deal with more readily here?” Brown said.

Thanks Hught for the bump! :grouphug::grouphug:

How 'about don't go to fast food places?
You can cook better at home!!!! We had Chineese this week @ HOME! I'm in the process of making brunswick stew @ home just like they make @ Smithfields! I'm VERY close!!!

BTW, if you go to Smithfields, they get your order right every time!

    LOVE some country bunkins! :hurray:

The comment is ignorant. I'd suggest to Rep. Brown that let start with the President, Barack Obama is a very hard name to pronounce the first time. I think all Asian Americans should change their name to Betty Brown, that would make it very easy for Rep. Brown to "deal with".
