Wow, that surprises me. Dd is out and when we spoke to her teacher a few weeks ago to discuss that our plans had already been paid for, she said that they were expecting a pretty low attendance for the two days. In fact, most of the kids on dd's bus are on vacation this week.
I never thought to ask my son how many showed up or didn't today. I just assumed it would be back to school as normal. Of course, if people had plans to be out of town, I wouldn't expect them to cancel, but otherwise, I'd expect kids to be in school. I didn't have plans, guess that's why the thought never crossed my mind...
My son said 6 kids were absent from his class today also. In addition, they had a sub, because the teacher took the day off too
My dd fought me on going to school today but I made her go. Then she texted me and told me only 10 of the 30 kids showed up for first block (she is in high school). The teacher said it was a waste of her time to teach anything so they played Rock Band the entire time! Now that makes me mad!
Why did they even have Rock Band in class??? anyway...I asked my son and he said there was only 1 kid out from his class yesterday, but the class next to his was missing 7. My 5 yo said his class had 2 out, but not sure if he really knew what he was talking about...
:iagree: DD has quite a few out as well. Said she had one teacher that gave them *fun work* because she didn't think it was fair to make them *work hard* when other kids were at home watching daytime TV.
one of my boys had 8 (usually 17) in his class, the other had 7 (usually 14). They go to McGee's Middle.
